Aurora, Equinox, nova!
Aurora:What is the most beautiful thing that you can think of?
Dawn when looking out on the Argyll coast. It’s a stunning view, especially when there’s fog across the water, and you can’t quite see the sun, but you can see daylight through the mist, and you hear the boats and earl-morning sounds, and the light just has this lush, fresh, greenness to it that you can only find in Scotland. The Antrim coast in NI is equally beautiful, but there’s just something about Argyll that makes me feel a little four-year-old girl again for some reason and all the wonderful nostalgia that comes with that.Â
Equinox:What makes you calm?
Not a lot! Haha! I can be quite highly strung, but my cats make me feel very calm, no matter how stressed I might be about anything, my cats do help me put my mind at ease and put everything in perspective. I also really enjoy yoga, and that is very calming and helps with mindfulness. Also, while this doesn’t make me feel calm per se, it does help clear my mind; being on the ice. Figure Skating allows me to forget my troubles and worries for a wee while.
Nova:When were you happiest?
Oh gosh, this is a difficult one. I mean I’m always happy when I’m working, and I’m happy when I’m with friends and family, I’m happy when I go back to Northern Ireland or Scotland, I’m happy at Christmas, I’m happy at Easter….but I always remember an ultimately happy time of my life, which I look back on and can remember no dark periods, no sadness, just free…happiness without a floor or ceiling to it, and that would be back in 1996. I can’t tell you why, because I don’t know, I just know that that was one of my happiest times as a child. And I remember being ecstatically happy on my 19th birthday, all I did was giggle with my friends, a lot of giggling; there are just endless photos of giggling. And I was very happy when I was working and living in NYC, that was a great period in my life….but I’m sort of hoping that the happiest time of my life is still to come!Â
