Apollo has a lump on his gums that looks like it's filled with dark gunk. He has red dots near it. He's been sick recently as well. I'm making a vet appointment first thing tomorrow - my mom thinks he has an abscess.
My poor baby boy. Everything happens to him. His office visit alone is $50 and I just... I have no idea how I'll pay for surgery if he does have an abscess. And I'll have to take off work the day he comes home because of his history of seizures and his history of reacting badly to anaesthesia. He also already got his one free dental visit this year so I'm going to pay out the ass.
The antibiotic stuff started looking more pressing now, because AFAICT the lingering infection pocket finally decided to make a bid for freedom by putting up a boil on the gum. (Yes, this is apparently a thing. Kind of surprised it never happened before, with that tooth simmering for years.)
Besides the gingivitis there flaring up, because overwhelmed immune system. Pretty much blaming that cluster of colds/flu for letting it do this anyway, but yeah.
At least that doesn’t seem to be involving any other teeth or the jawbone, based on the x-rays last time and symptoms being the same now other than the nasty boil coming up. *fingers crossed* It’s still building, and hopefully being able to drain some will help the situation. But, I’m also concerned about maybe getting sicker once it does start.
I’ve been doing topical treatments again, which have at least been helping with the more surface infection even if they won’t do anything for that deeper abscess pocket.
Besides being past the limits of my patience trying to deal with even Old Dentist, I’m also kinda on my own with appointments for a while with Mr. C starting that new job Monday. Not thrilled about the timing anyway, but that is also helping the DIY plan look more necessary right now.
Not much about the situation that I am pleased about, but the infection probably isn’t doing much for my outlook either right now.
