When I saw this mushroom I immediately thought of a beehive hairdo!
Black Morel mushrooms are a well loved ingredient in many foods. Always cook them before consumption. They are part of the Morchellaceae family and are just one of many types of Morels. Due to their yummy savory flavor, these mushrooms are very popular. Finding a large batch of these could be considered a very lucky jackpot!

My baby buttons! I get a real 60-70s vibe with their clothes lol.
Button mushrooms, Baby Bellas, Flat mushrooms and Portobellos are all part of the Agaricus family. Button mushrooms get darker as they mature. I had trouble with the hands in this one.

Helvella lacunosa
Common names include slate grey saddle and grey elfin saddle. A tiny thing who isn't edible and may be slightly toxic. I wanted to draw a different, niche species of mushroom. Trying a few different things.
I love the vein like stem of this mushroom. The texture is fun to mimic into clothing.
