I have many thoughts on the Season 5 trailer, but the one I can form coherently right now is that it seems like Nora takes Barry to the time vault to tell/show him what her mistake was and/or why she was hiding from them. Which makes me think that it may be related to the newspaper article and Barryās disappearance. But her tone in the scene doesnāt scream āI messed up and got you killed in the futureā, so Iām not entirely sure thatās what sheāll be revealing to him.

I definitely think that her future is bleak af, with most of the team dead or gone. I havenāt had a chance to rewatch, but I liked it! Cisco and Cynthia broke my heart, but Carlos acted his ass off. Marlize leaving Clifford was wonderful. Barry was annoying but in a cute way, and Iris did her best to keep him in check and coach the team. I even liked the Harry/Cecile stuff, it was really only Caitlinās story that was displeasing. Given the obvious lack luster excitement Grant's been feeling towards some of the season and all of the accusations made about AJK, do you think they got along? Do you think there was tension on set between them for whatever reason and caused the season to lean so Ralph-heavy?
I donāt, simply because AJK wasnāt on set with the cast. Itās possible Grant was feeling a little burned out at first and asked for a lighter load, which they took way too far, but I have absolutely no proof for that. All I can say is that Grant is gonna want more story next season, lol, and I hope he gets it.

One thing that I have seen in shows before when they come back from summer hiatus is, if they ended on a cliffhanger, return to where they left off in the first episode then do the time jump for the next episode. Either that or have a lot more time pass between each episode for the first half of the season. I just really hope they don't skip over everything. Barry and Iris just became instant parents and I'd like to see how they deal with it from the start. Especially if Iris is already pregnant
I sincerely hope they come back to the cliffhanger moment in S5. After all, every other season ended with Barryās disappearance, so this one is already breaking the mold.
Basically, the way I see it: either Iris is already pregnant and Barry was supposed to die in the finale, or Dawn accidentally changed something beforeĀ the finale that caused him to die which would have erased her own existence and thatās why she saved him.
so now i think what will happen is a little more obvious. if next season is about family and Barry/Iris learning how to be parents to an adult, then they will be sad when she eventually goes back to her time at the end of the season...only to then find out Iris is pregnant and be thrilled about their new baby. right? i mean, that just seems logical now. then she'll have the baby (or babies) in Season 6 around Christmas or so.

As for the cast? FlashĀ actually has one of the smaller casts in the Arrowverse, it just feels more cramped because everyoneās at STAR Labs all the time. Todd said theyāre changing that next season, not that he can be trusted. Arrow had 9 series regulars this season, and theyāre replacing Willa and Paul with others for next season. Legends had 9 as well, and theyāre replacing Franz and Victor with Jes and Matt.Ā Supergirl had 8. By contrast, FlashĀ only has 6 series regulars. Even if they add both Hartley and Jessica, thatāll be 8 and even with SG.

It is speculation, you are correct. And it comes from this post Candice made that showed moving boxes, except we know Candice was filming that day and her apartment doesnāt look like that.
That same day, Grant posted an instastory in which he was coming out of a house during filming. And Kate posted a story of her and Candice in what looked like a backyard.
So from all of that, we extrapolated that Grant and Candice were filming a scene of Barry and Iris moving into their new house, and that Dawn would show up and tell them itās bitchinā lol.

It is kind of hard to think of how theyāll recenter Barry, but I think I would enjoy a parallel story of Barry needing to restore his reputation as a CSI after the trial but also Flashās reputation as a hero after all the havoc Devoe wreaks. That would give us more of a chance to incorporate CCPD and Irisā journalism, not to mention the literal people of Central City.
I also think that Dawn/Nora being Iris and Barryās daughter will automatically give him some focus back, especially if she has a mission she needs her parentsā help with.

Nope. I know some people interpreted Natalieās spoiler to mean sex, but I didnāt at all. I took it to mean Cisco and Cynthia will literally discuss one of them moving. If they do get a ~racy scene, it wonāt be anything more than WA got in 3.04 or 3.10 or even what CC got in 4.02.
Iām not surprised that special exists. AJK clearly thought Ralph would be the future of the show and of course the network would back that. They already had Hartley signed on so they might as well do their best to make it work. Whether that leads to him being a regular in season 5 is anyoneās guess.

After reading the interview, I don't think Todd is lying about Ralph being gone. The way he talked about it and said how it was needed for Barrys development, I dont think he'll go back on it. I can't be certain, but that is where I am at right now. If I am wrong and he is back next season I think I'll have to step back too. Maybe just watch Iris scenes. Ralph is just that terrible and I am so disappointed.Even my 7 year old nephew can see what a creep he is and can't enjoy it how the way he did

Yeah I can stomach "We are the Flash" becoming a team thing if IW is the one who says it. It would still be BS but not insulting. If it's BA who says it to C&C...:cries: This made me think about what you said on the podcast, that it makes no sense for BA's FIL to fight DeVoe's Samuroid, for BA's wife to fight DeVoe's wife while RALPH and not Barry fights DeVoe. There were parallels between WA and the DeVoes that got lost to include the team, hence "We are the Flash" being about the team now.
Yeah, thereās definitely a way to expand the meaning without being insulting. But I agree that the season has moved on from being Barryās story, and hopefully they can bring it back around next season.
See I donāt know what to believe when it comes to Todd (or any showrunner for the matter). Heās said in interviews that this was the plan all along & Hartley knew where the character was gonna go before he got the role. Apparently, this whole season for Barry is about him feeling responsible for someone & trying to make him into a hero & then losing him & using that to propel himself towards defeating the villain. š¤·š½āāļø
From my point of view, lying about the past is very different from lying about the future. By saying they had a plan all along, heās trying to make past mistakes seem less embarrassing. Saying Ralph is done and then him notĀ being done would be setting himself up for failure later.

I am like 90% sure Singh knows Barry is tf. I think that's why he wanted to honor tf after the meta attack. He knew Barry was most likely going to prison, and there wasn't anything he could do about it, so he at least wanted to show Barry what he thinks of him and how much he appreciates what he has done for the city. Also shows why he is willing to cover for him all the time. Not to mention, he's a freaking detective (1)
(2) I mean Barry was struck by lightning during the PE explosion (which obviously created most of the other metas) and in a coma for 9months. As soon as he's back, there are sightings of the flash. Then, directly after a crazy lightning storm, the flash disappears for 6months.... as does Barry. If he doesn't know by now I would be shocked.
I love this headcanon and I hope itās proven true onscreen. It does stretch disbelief to imagine that Singh hasnāt noticed Barry is the Flash - especially after Barry cut out during the defenseās closing statements just as the Flash showed up to save the city.
I was really moved by Singh this episode, almost as much as I was by Iris.
I just want to understand how Wally can āreplaceā Jax/Stein even temporarily. He doesnāt have the skill sets either of them had, nor their powers. And they havenāt touched on his engineering side in forever.
I hope that was some kind of mistaken quote, because yeah, thereās no way Wally and Jax are comparable. Now if LegendsĀ remembers Wally is an engineer and uses it? Thatāll be a miracle. But I think Wally is just gonna be on the show for a few episodes and then finally - hopefully - return to Flash.Ā
Other than the diapers line in 401 there is one thing that makes me believe that Iris may be pregnant. My main thing is the knowledge that it looks like their daughter is showing up from the future. Wouldn't it be really risky to travel back to a time that's within a couple of years before you were born? Wouldn't that put a great risk on whether or not you are born in the first place? Unless Dawn and her brother have already been conceived anyway... (1)
(2) The reason this is sticking out to me is probably because of the movie About Time. The main character goes back in time before his daughter is born, and when he returns he finds he has a completely different child. I don't know. It's definitely something the writers of flash could ignore or simply not think of. But I think it makes sense. I personally don't want a pregnancy reveal before s5 finale, but there are more signs pointing to it being sooner rather than later.
I hadnāt thought about that, but it could be something the writers keep in mind. I feel like we need a pro and con (or likely vs. not) list for Iris being pregnant, lol. Because on the Sheās Totally Pregnant side, we have 4.01ā²sĀ ādiaperā line, 4.07ā²sĀ āwhen we have our first child,ā and the crossoverāsĀ āyouāre glowing!ā And then on the No Way side thereās Cecile alreadyĀ being pregnant and the fact that weāre only on season 4 of a show that could go 10 seasons.
While Eobard has traveled to long before his birth without any issues, we havenāt seen BarryĀ travel outside of his lifespan, so you may have a point. But like you, Iād prefer to hold off on Iris being pregnant for now.
I'm fine with Iris not being in the descriptions for the next few episodes. Like you said, it doesn't mean anything for her screentime since she has had amazing episodes where she wasn't in the description. And she was in the description for 8, 9 and 10. It's ok if it cycles to other characters for a bit.

Barry being in prison would be a perfect time to have Iris/Joe scenes. Iris promises that she will be strong for Barry and for the team, but she can show her vulnerability to Joe.

Do you think they are going to address Barry's metabolism issue while he is in jail/prison? The part of me that hates inconsistency in writing hopes they do, but the more empathetic side of me really hopes they don't. Well, maybe if the team can figure out a solution to it and create a way to smuggle some of Cisco's power bars to him or something. I just really don't want to see him starved out. Not only would it be hard to see him like that, but it could be triggering to some viewers.
I definitely donāt think theyāll make it a serious situation where heās starving. If anything, I imagine Cisco/Joe/Iris will say they snuck him in a bunch of protein bars or something,Ā

I can't shake this feeling that because the mystery girl appeared on Supergirl's portion of Crisis with a "special guest starring" for the actress, that she's going to be XS and be relevant to SG's plot rather than for Barry and Iris. I think they just had her talking to Barry to connect that for the audience when they eventually reveal who she is...on Supergirl. I hope its not the case but I have a feeling she's not Dawn
Thatās a terrible feeling, Iām sorry. Obviously I think sheās Dawn and that sheāll be on The Flash, but I would be disappointed if she was Jenni and showed up on Supergirl instead. Especially since I donāt know why an Earth-1 girl would be working on Earth-38, or why an Earth-38 girl would care about an Earth-1 wedding.
