Despite the #coronavirus pandemic, it still plans to go forward and hold the show, Mayor Bill de Blasio said yesterday. Not only do critics argue that spectators flocking to the show could violate social distancing guidelines, they also suggest the cash-strapped retailer should spend its money elsewhere. On March 30, Macy’s announced that it would furlough the “majority” of its 120,000-plus employees.
