“You should have come to me sooner. So much of this could have been avoided,” Gabriel was saying.
“Would you have allowed it?” Adrien asked, reopening his eyes.
“...No,” his father admitted. “It’s too dangerous. Too lonely. Not the life I ever wanted for you.”
