Tonsillectomy Remedies! Im really into remedies so I have been trying some things. I got my tonsils out yesterday and have gotten these remedies from the internet and myself. *Frozen coconut oil has been the best thing. Sounds gross but when you are in pain its great. I mixed mine with a little bit of orange soda and put it in popsicle molds, you could also use an ice cube tray. I have also been eating it raw. It helps after eating and before bed because it re-moisturizes your wounds. Its also really soothing for wounds and people use it as a lotion and hair treatment. You honestly can use coconut oil for everything! *I got some all natural popsicles. They are good if you can afford them. The LAST thing your wounds need needs while healing is artificial colors and flavors. Sucking on ice chips is another alternative. *My Dad bought me an ice pack. I put it on my neck and it feels really good. Remember not to leave it on for more then 20 minutes. A cheaper alternative is a bag of peas in a pillow case. *Then I made some iced lavender tea with honey. You aren't allowed green or black tea because it can cause a greater amount of bleeding, but lavender is fine. It feels better to drink then water. You could also put it in popsicle molds. *I made gelatin gummies. (Not pictured) Its grape juice, gelatin and honey. This helps rebuild connective tissue and aids in healing. *lastly its very important to eat healthy. Doctors say to just get down popsicles and ice cream but I totally disagree. This is one of the most important times to eat healthy!! I had some purred strawberries and spinach last night (not together). You can pretty much blend any fruit or vegetable and they are easier on your stomach then sugary cold stuff. Some other ideas are; soy milk, organic ice yogurt or milk, blended black beans, protein shakes, purred fruit or vegetables, cold soups, broths, you may even be able to blend meat if you get creative.
