Tommy and Keith had been seeing each other for long enough now that Tommy had a toothbrush, clothes, and all he needed at Keith’s, so he saw it fit to get his love a suit. What else were you supposed to do for the one you adored? Besides, Keith had been invited to some formal, black-tie event for the law firms of the state. Being rather high up, it was important that he at least showed his face. He was in his bedroom when he heard Tommy come into the penthouse apartment, “Hey sweetie,” Keith walked out, smiling at his lover, “I’ve got a surprise for you, and I know it’s kind of short notice, but I have an event tonight that I have to go to. But...” He kissed Tommy on the cheek, “I want you to come with me, and so I got you a present, and it’s in my room.”

“No!” Keith never snapped, especially not at Tommy. But the pent up frustration from work was beginning to get on his nerves. Although he loved the man in front of him, the constant gentleness wasn’t what he needed. “Thomas, just... Just get out of the way, alright?” He’d been hit by a client (not the first time) and his busted lip was unwanted evidence of the event. Keith would usually appreciate the help, but he was afraid he may go beyond just words if anyone got in his way.
