i found his ‘le crowbar’ book in the library which led me to continue researching more of his work. the introduction of his book:

“our tutor ray thompson brandishes a tabloid front page with the headline ‘police powerless as 20,000 attend rave’. He then talks about the importance of this event in terms of contemporary culture and how it is a pivotal moment in the history of modern music, fashion and society. I felt the blood drain from my body as I realise that I have missed one of the major cultural events in my lifetime in order to write about culture from another time and continent”

it is thought-provoking that this particular movement has shaped a large majority of the aspects of our youth culture today, and how it is still influencing our fashion and everyday lives. The very idea of having a separate family outside of your own, attracts young people to these kinds of beautiful cults that have formed, feeling a oneness with those around them. Linked together through dress-sense, music and behaviour. Aspects i aim to represent in this project

very inspiring images that document a journey around europe in a double decker bus, in which they built in sound systems and beds etc. and painted it white and red. The photographs really inspire your care-free nature and make you want to live a less socially and culturally influenced life, making it more free and fulfilling

I had intended to wait until the inauguration of the man who conned his way into the presidency to begin writing in this blog, but the situation has become untenable and requires a response.  Before I start my crusade in earnest I feel I owe it to you, dear reader, to set forth the ground rules I will be operating under.

My foremost concern will be the truth,  If you just want to see bashing without regards for the truth, this is not the place for you.  My opinions will undoubtedly seep into the material, but they will be informed by facts.  Facts are not subjective and I will cite my sources whenever I feel it is needed.  I will also do my best to present those facts without removing necessary context, but I will condense where needed.

I am open to corrections, and may even write about how my views have changed from previous articles.  This is not a venue for us to interact. I am not looking to create a community or grow a fan-base. I view these writings as a necessary check of power (I am aware of the egotism of such thoughts already, thank you).  I will not respond directly to any messages received.  You may share, copy/paste, or reference anything I write here and in exchange I will not ask for you to crowdfund, donate, follow or like me. 

Individuals are deserving of a reasonable level of respect that we often refer to as politeness.  As an individual makes statements or takes actions that level of respect can be increased or decreased.  I don’t think it is wrong to treat a morally repugnant person rudely, but I abhor violence. Beliefs and Ideas are not entitled to any initial respect.  As they are considered they can be determined to have no merit whatsoever and disregarded. People are shades of grey, and I will give credit for good actions.  But a good action does not counteract or justify a bad.  Nor do the bad actions of others excuse bad behavior for anyone else.

I believe in equal rights for all people; no matter their race, creed, country of origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, or economic status.  I believe in the principles and premise of the Constitution and America; even if I do not belief it has fulfilled those promises as yet.
