Not sure why I’m the one being asked this or if I’m really qualified to answer for Tomes, but if you’re wondering why she’s been around less frequently as of late, I can pretty confidently say that babies, while wonderful, are time consuming and tiring.

Isn't it though? It is somewhere on a 230 acre campus, snuggled in amongst the orchard and ponderosa pine in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Five plus years ago, I would start my days in that kitchen. I would stay after breakfast clean-up, coffee mug in hand, and shoot the shit with Benjamin, the kitchen manager. We had great talks.
He had a beard like Jesus and only wore wool robes, in an effort to reduce unnecessary choices and increase the meaningful experience of his days. Benjamin would tease me about eating too many of his chocolate chips (stored for baking) and I would promise to try to stop, but we both knew it wouldn't happen.
When I visited, a year later, he told me with a kind of sadness that he never had a problem keeping his baking chocolate stocked after I left.
Stalker stuff!
Just came back from an impromptu mini-vacation to Pittsburgh. It was so nice to catch up with family and enjoy a little quality time with them. Once I logged into Tumblr on a proper laptop (I hate looking at it on my phone!), my first thought was, "Did Tomes have her baby?!?!?"
Confession: I just dug through my entire Tumblr log to see if someone I don't even know and have never really had a conversation with had their baby. That, my friends, is some serious stalker stuff right there.
I'm just so excited to see the new #education mascot!

sorry for the random question. I have a niece that's about to take a ib class. My brother wanted to know the difference between ib and ap. do you happen to know. My niece goes to a private catholic school in little rock Arkansas.
Don't worry about it! My district doesn't actually do IB's and I really don't have much familiarity with the program but from what I know they are comparable. The primary difference is the institution that provides the accreditation for the class. AP is certified by the College Board and IB is certified by the International Baccalaureate. Both are well known/respected in the US and both receive college credit, dependent on the exam score, but the IB is the one that is respected abroad. I think there is some difference in how college credit is awarded, and I'm sure there are differences in curriculum but honestly I am not 100% sure. I know Tomesaway has taught IB so I think she may actually be able to answer this better than I can. (Sorry I can't be of more help!)
