Madi might have been up most night debating whether or not she should talk to Tomas about this. She kept going back and forth mostly because even the fact that Guy came into her home meant that he was desperate enough to do something stupid, which meant the farm and the food was definitely in need or protecting. And Emre was good at that. She knew that.
But seeing Emre like that, almost as if he was completely out of it as he was holding Guy’s throat tighter and tighter terrified Madi and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get the image out of her head.
Even in the morning when she was doing the regular, daily tasks that had to be done, she was going back and forth, but once she was done with those, she has decided to talk to Tomas - worst case scenario, Tomas wouldn’t agree and nothing happens.
(Or maybe worst case scenario was that Tomas did agree and Emre was taken off the position and the next day the farm got burned to the ground because somebody did something stupid. But she didn’t want to think about that as an option.)
So she went to find Tomas, feeling a bit of relief that at least he was alone when she found him. She wouldn’t have to deal with others at least, make it seem like she was trying to have some super secret conversation with Tomas possibly about how they could have even more of the food for themselves. (Seriously, after what Guy has said, she wondered if other people have been thinking like that, if they thought they were trying to hoard everything for themselves.)
“Hey, sorry, I hope I’m not-- I hope I’m not bothering you at a wrong time.” She felt so nervous, Tomas could probably tell right away, but she was going along, not stop, not even for breathing. “I just-- I wanted to talk to you about something. Not something, someone. Emre. I wanted to talk to you about Emre for a moment. If you can spare the time. You-- I just wanted to ask you to take him off of the protection duty. If you can, that is. I know it’s important, like really, really important, I swear I do, but I don’t-- I don’t think it’s good for him.”
