Belgariad Fancast-Ā Tolnedra
Imperial Tolnedra, as it is so often styled, is one of the wealthiest nations in the world, due to the Toldedran fixation with money. Ā Pragmatic, clever and realistic, Tolnedrans are often atheists, which rapidly becomes difficult to explain away as the events of the world depend more and more on supernatural occurrences. Ā The Tolnedrans maintain the highways that keep the West connected as well as the largest standing military body: the legions.
Ran Borune XXIII (Timothy Busfield), Emperor of Tolnedra- Ā Aging and prone to apoplectic fits of rage, Ran Borune dotes on his outrageous daughter even as he remains vigilant against assassination attempts from rival houses, all looking to claim the throne on his death. Ā After Ce'Nedra goads him into a fit and absconds with the Imperial Legions, Ran Borune only laughs and sends his best advisor to assist her in her time of need.
General Varana of the House of Anadile (Richard Armitage),Ā later Ran Borune XXIV- Much more serene than the quick witted emperor or fiery princess, Varana "advises" Ce'Nedra (meaning he truly leads the might of Tolnedra against the horde of Angaraks), while Ce'Nedra focuses on shepherding the Alorns. Ā Ran Bourne was so impressed with his service, he made him his heir, much to the never ending displeasure of the rivals houses all jockeying for power.Ā
Bethra (Gina Bellman)- A courtesan and a noted spy, Bethra is the center of information in Tolnedra, along with being noted for "other things". Ā Seducing everyone from Silk to Ran Borune himself, Bethra was one of the few players in the spy business who ever earned the title of Hunter from the Drasnian Intelligence Service, a rare honor. Ā Her past with Silk is long, colorful and apparently involves a large amount of gold, palace intrigue and the Thullish Ambassador's untimely death at the bottom of a river.Ā
