För nÄgra veckor sedan nÀr jag kröp runt en gammal granlÄga för att se vad som vÀxte pÄ den mÀrkte jag nÄgot som tittade upp i mossan en bit bort. NÀr jag vÀnde pÄ huvudet för att se vad det var sÄg jag ingenting. Kan det ha varit en groda som jag hade sett? DÄ tittade den upp igen. En liten tofsmes! NÀr jag hade sett den sÄ sÄg jag ett par till. Dom verkade inte bry sig sÀrskilt mycket om min nÀrvaro dÀr dom for runt och letade efter mat i mossan.

A few weeks ago when I was crawling around an old fallen spruce tree to see what was growing on it, I noticed something looking up from the moss a short bit away from me. When I turned my head to see what it was, I didn't see anything. Could it have been a frog? Then it popped up again. A little Crested Tit! Once I'd seen it I saw a couple more. They didn't seem to care much about my presence as they moved around looking for food in the moss.

here we got what in english is called: european crested tit (Lophophanes cristatus). in swedish it is âtofsmesâ. which translated to âponytail - softieâ or âponytail - dorkâ (alternative tassel - wimp).
it is called such because of the tuft of feathers on its head. perhaps this means it would be called tuft - softie in english? i was having a hard time to find a good translation of âtofsâ to english.
