Femslash Review Fest - Day 4
A fic for your OTP.
Going back to an old but good anime ship! I can ship Utena and Anthy with other people, but I don’t want them to end up with anyone but each other.
Title: Forever doesn’t end (but it changes) Author: tofsla Fandom/Pairing: Revolutionary Girl Utena; Utena/Anthy Summary: Anthy knows the script. Utena doesn’t. Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No AO3 archive warnings apply Submitter Notes: I really love this. It feels true to the artificial, cyclical nature of Ohtori’s world. Anthy’s resignation and ambivalence, the way she doesn’t want to let herself feel hope or love, are painful in the best way.

Title: Awakening Author: Stealth_Noodle Fandom/Pairing: Revolutionary Girl Utena; Utena/Anthy Summary: When she opens her eyes, she sees the sky. Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No AO3 archive warnings apply Submitter Notes: Fic where Anthy and Utena find each other again after the end of the series is one of my favorite things. This one is beautiful and moving. I like how it emphasizes the strangeness of resuming a life outside Ohtori after spending so long in the illusion.

Title: Untangled Author: emilyenrose Fandom/Pairing: Revolutionary Girl Utena; Utena/Anthy Summary: “Rapunzel is lost to you. You will never see her again.” The king’s son was beside himself with pain, and in his despair he leapt down from the tower. He escaped with his life, but the thorns into which he fell pierced his eyes.
Anthy searches the world for Utena Tenjou.
Rating: Teens Warnings: No AO3 archive warnings apply; referenced underage rape and incest Submitter Notes: Another post-series fic. As opposed to the fic above which is more sudden, this is a fic that slowly grows. Anthy and Utena meet again, but Utena doesn’t remember Anthy or anything that happened. I really like how Anthy starts rebuilding her own life before finding Utena, and how Utena once again becomes the catalyst for change in Anthy’s life. I love the emotions when Anthy is longing for Utena to remember her but trying to resign herself to never having her back completely. The happy ending feels earned.
