There was always something about being up on Spikemuth's roof in the late hours of the night, the post-concert adrenaline only beginning to fade. The colder breeze coming in from Circhester Bay, the faint glow of neon lights barely visible from above. As well as a perfect view of the night sky, honestly a bonus in Piers' eyes. No wonder he tended to come up here whenever he had the chance. An overall great place to unwind and get some inspiration.

However, tonight had the added bonus of having Nat with him, and that easily overshadowed the beauty of the starry sky, his gaze more often flicking to her instead of the sight above them. It was this... he wouldn't call it "shy", no... More like "giddiness of a man in love" feeling. A warm, soft, and all-consuming sensation. One like he'd never known or had the chance to ever experience until her, in all honesty. What with him growing up around making Spikemuth the town it was today. But one he adored, all the same.

"Yeah?" Drayton took a moment to actually lift his head up from where he was resting on the table. He can't say he's surprised by her admission at all. After all, Lacey loved anything that was cute. She probably had stuffed animals all throughout her dorm, if he were to hazard a guess.

Though now that she'd said it out loud, Drayton was going to file that thought away for later. Not that she needed to know that.

Wait hold on!

This visual felt off. Not in a bad way but... Lacey falling asleep on him? What kind of alternate timeline had he stumbled into? Felt like she always had her guard up around him. She didn't really take breaks either. Or if she did, he wasn't around to see them.

He had no reason to complain either because he was always telling her that she needed to relax. Take a load off. Have a nap. And now here they were. Sitting on the couch in the League Club, just the two of them, with her head resting on his shoulder.

He wasn't entirely sure what to do with himself. Moving would be akin to disturbing a litten napping on your lap. Rude at best. Downright illegal if you ask some.

It didn't take much deliberation however.

"Well... If you can't beat 'em..." His voice was softer than usual, not trying to wake her up. And he settled back against the couch, crossing his arms and tucking his head down.

"A few..." He hummed casually as he looked up from one of the cards he was reading over. It was a pretty generic card. Drayton has never been the type to get fussed about Valentine's cards. The candy was a nice plus when it was included. But it was rare that he got anything serious from the other students. Not that he minded. After all, that was the energy he invited in his day to day.

Nothing too serious.

He wasn't good with handling real confessions. Turning people down was awkward and mentally taxing.
