TOWNIE MAKEOVER - Dina Caliente

This is it guys ! The last one of the Caliente's household. Here is the infamous Dina Caliente !

I know what you're thinking...hum she doesn't really look like her sister anymore! Well, YES ! I know, I meant it ! And there are several reasons to that.

First, I have decided that the sisters are not twins anymore in my backstory. I needed Nina to build herself in a totally different environment than Dina, where favoritism was part of their dynamic, and what better arc to play than the baby sister who is the preferred one, whether it is actually true or feels like it ?

Second, Dina has definitely benefitted from a few cosmetic surgeries/changes (can you spot them ? or is the surgeon (aka ME) too talented ? Ah ah, just kidding!) Some may say that she is now addicted to them.

In my backstory Dina is a lifestyle influencer. She definitely makes the most of her mother's fame and shares her day to day life on social media. Fashion icon? serial partygoer? Fitness guru ? she is not decided yet. As the baby of the family, she just enjoys her privileged life with no particular pressure to do or be anything special, contrary to her sister who always had to prove herself worthy.

Dina really seems to enjoy living her life under the spotlight, just like she was always the one who got all of Katrina's attention.

Attention, attention, that is all she craves, be it good or bad. After all isn't the saying "bad buzz is still buzz" ?

How bad would it be if someone leaked that her sister was having an affair with her mother's younger boyfriend...

...just asking for a friend!

TOWNIE MAKEOVER - Don Lothario

Ladies and gentlemen, the one and only, Don LOTHARIO ! What a character ! I tried to keep his iconic red shirt, also the chain is still there, see, I tried really hard. Now, if I am being totally honest, I am not completly satisfied with this makeover. I feel like there is something missing but I can't seem to put my finger on it, so I decided to let go, and share it anyway. Tried, is always better than not done I guess, and I am very pleased with the storyline so...

As we continue on with our makeovers of the Caliente household, we have now reached the charismatic Don.

If you have read Nina's makeover, you know the tea. If not, it's never too late to catch up here!

As I explained in Nina's post, Don, eventhough he is dating Katrina, has started to look at Nina in a different way. And this is how it all started...

At first, he couldn't stand her. She seemed hung-up, and scornful. But then, there was that night...

Katrina had cancelled their restaurant reservation to go to a last minute dinner party at Judith Ward's. And because, they did not go public yet (at least not officially) Don couldn't go with her, so he found himself alone on that friday night, in that big and cold mansion.

As he was grabbing a bottle of wine in the kitchen to go and have his own private party in his room, he heard some voices...it was coming from the home cinema room. He stopped there for a moment and recognized the dialogues...it was...Love Actually. One of his favourite movies. But nobody knew that. He just loved how all the couples were navigating the same feeling of love through such different experiences though. He loved how universal and still unique love was depicted in this movie. But he never really had a chance to share his views with anybody, because nobody would think for a minute that he is the type to love such a movie.

At first, it really bothered him to always have to face people's assumptions about him. Because of the way he looks, the job he does and because he is always willing to try and find love (some would scream womanizer 🤭) , people always assume that he is or is not this or that.

Now he is just used to it! And sometimes even, it plays in his favor, as people always tend to underestimate him.

"It's my favourite time of day, driving you" he heard.

He couldn't resist anymore and entered the room.

There she was, Nina. Captivated, involved, absorbed. For the first time, seeing her didn't raise that irritation that he usually felt when she was around.

And for the first time, the conversation was engaged without any hostility neither from him nor from her. Incredible!

They then proceeded to share a glass of wine, a bowl of pop corn, some sweet banter and their love for this movie and movies in general, he suddenly felt as if he was seeing her for the first time, bright and clear in that dark room.

She was lively, funny, interested and interesting....and also, a beautiful woman, but that, she seemed unaware of. Which made her even more...desirable! Wait what ?!

Now, what is he going to do with that...

Careful, careful, life is not a romcom Don!

TOWNIE MAKEOVER - Nina Caliente

Meet my version of Nina Caliente! I have to say, I am really excited about her makeover ! Not really about her new closet (eventhough I think she turned out quite cute...if I do say so myself! ah ah) but really about her back story !

When I first loaded into their household, I was kind of surprised by Nina's traits, and I thought to myself, well...she is a really complex character.

I mean, she is hot-headed, noncommittal, BUT romantic? and she has villainous valentine as an aspiration? I mean come on ! I was so perplexed at first, and then, it hit me ! So if you'd like to know what I imagined, here is her story...

Because Nina very much looks like her mother, she has always been compared to her but obviously, was never enough.

Mind you, how could you compete with a gorgeous woman who has established her fame and recognition through years and years of hard work when you are only a little girl? At that, that beautiful and successful woman seems to really enjoy being praised and complimented, even if it is at your expense.

Also, remember, that woman, is your mother!

Well, growing up in that specific environment, and in the shadow of her quite narcissistic mother, Nina developed : a gnawing resentment, a consuming jealousy, and a secret desire to be in her mother's shoes . The only problem being that with all these feelings her lack of self confidence grew along. And that is why she could never be in front of the camera like her mother, so instead, she writes the stories (so, you guessed it, she is an author but I only make her write scenarios).

Growing up as THE Katrina Caliente's daughter (as the first born, yes I have decided that they are not twins anymore with Dina, it better fits my storyline) doesn't leave much room for you to be a shy and discreet child.

So eventhough, Nina is not really your typical self-assured girly, she cannot let everyone, and especially not her mother see how weak she is inside.

So as the years went by, she learned how to guard her heart not to suffer. She has developed that persona who is noncommittal, and hot-headed but that is just a facade. She rather scare and bite first than being hurt. She rather be chaotic in love and destroy things than give a man the opportunity to not choose her. Something she experienced way too much while growing up.

But when you pay attention, when you really look, and really listen, you can see it. All she really wants is to be loved, truly loved. Loved for who she is and not because she looks like her mother or not because she is the daughter of said mother, Nina is indeed a romantic at heart.

And that is how Don Lothario enters the chat room.

Surprisingly, he seems to see something in Nina that nobody before, has ever seen. When she is in his presence, she feels seen and heard. She feels sexy enough, she feels woman enough, and finds herself wondering how this gorgeous man, who is actually dating her goddess mother, could lay eyes on her, with such lust and desire that she could feel her skin burn.

It's a rollercoaster of emotions for Nina. Of course with her aspiration (villainous valentine) , she is used to chaos and drama, but this time...could it be different ?

Is she really falling for this man or is she falling for HER MOTHER's man? Does she want to find love ? or does she want to win over her mother, for once ?

Who knows...
