Alien invasion thoughts about 2012 tmnt.
Idk if this was discussed before, but me and my friends had a chat today and we came up with that:
Look, in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012, we know about people being replaced by Kraang. Irma and April's teacher, for example. We know they had the resources to monitor April, etc., but who exactly was monitoring her? Probably doctors, teachers, someone from child services, the police, etc.
And it would be logical if Kraangs replaced these people immediately with their droids or mutants.
And well, replacing one person from a family unit would be inconvenient, because loved ones might notice strange new habits in the family member. So, it would be more logical for Kraangs to select one person, perhaps someone who works or has applied for a job at TCRI, and then gradually replace them and their family. So we would have these "sleeper" Krang agents, who could be in hospitals, kindergartens (yes, they would also replace children), schools, etc.
And then total surveillance of April would be easier.
Plus, this theory could very easily explain the fact that all Kraang related crimes, the presence of mutants, the constant fights, etc., would have been ignored. New York is not a small city; there are cameras, etc., and it's strange that nothing that happened in the city bothered the government. But if we look at this through the understanding that Kraangs have replaced and are in control of the government in New York and possibly beyond, then the fact that after everything that happened, the National Guard was never called out to New York makes sense.
Kraangs simply covered everything up, pulling the strings at the top.
Besides, Kraangs need people for experiments.
1. April's mom is one big, incomprehensible experiment.
2. April's clones. Yes, they got her DNA, but they started trying to create hundreds of her clones in an incredibly short period of time. I don't think they could have done all that so quickly from scratch. They definitely experimented with cloning other people. Also, they 100% needed human material for their experiments or guinea pigs (humans) so as not to risk April's well-being blindly.
And just think how interesting it would be to watch the turtles not just fight Kraangs, but also play detectives.
My friend suggested that it would be cool if the turtles got into the TCRI and, while they were rummaging around, found documents on people in New York. Something like, "This family can be replaced, they have useful connections for the Kraang," "This person is useless to the Kraang, but no one will look for him, we need to kidnap him for experiments," or "These people are of no value to the Kraang, we can leave them alone for now."
That would be such a cool horror story.
A confusion about who is actually human, who has been replaced, and what to do, now that the Kraangs have even gotten to the government.
Plus, the Kraang's non-intervention in Shredder's conflict with the Turtles would make even more sense. To them, Shredder was nothing, an idiot who was only trying to unknowingly help them get rid of the turtles. And so they could quietly cover up his various crimes while they themselves were busy with more important matters - planning the invasion and conducting experiments.
Can you imagine the moral conflict April would have if she found out all of that?
She would realize there's no way she can escape the aliens.
It's a hopeless situation for her, and she would feel so guilty that because of her, so many people were replaced, experimented on, or killed.
this weeks @weeklymagmas magma jam contributions!

at first I was just gonna do the lineart but,,, he needed to be colored.
also, had to find an excuse to draw the favorite character again
The mask is so much more difficult of a shape than it looks at first 💀 but I think it came out good! :)
Drawing games!
3 Creepy 5 Me | Corn | Candle | Plot Twist! | Bioluminescence | “Well… this is awkward” | Ocean | “You deserve the world, dear”
I got to draw Wheatley! Always a win. British robots 🩵
and my oc! Not canon guys he doesn’t die,,, just,, what if? (Extra sad bc it would have probably been done by his son based on his fit/when in the timeline it took place)
And as usual, my silly judge doodles:
"Sorry"
"Don't apologize to him!"
"I I mean- sorry I didn't drop you harder!"
"There you go :)"
