💌 What's a signature of your style (writing, art, etc)?

For writing style: I've been told it feels fairy-tale-esque? Which is partially my intention I suppose with most fics. ^^"

For art style: I've been told it's cute. I can't say I go for cute, but that is often where the path of always drawing ship art leads. (One day I will actually share edgy stuff I promise)

🎮 If your OL was a game, what unique game mechanics would it have or genre would it be?

I'm actually working on a post for this one! But to give you an idea ahead of time... 👀

Bundling (Keep Link and Zelda warm with the customization options or face the consequences)!

Sleds & Wagons (Traverse the storm-ridden Hyrule in more ways than one)!

Lantern Runes (Change the appearance of the lantern with Runes to progress the story and gain certain bonus effects).

Fuel (Change Searis's power (and appearance) based on the fuel he is given).

Alight (Not to be confused with the Fuse from TotK, attach Searis to items and even certain structures to control him more directly and change the environment).

🕹 Imagine your OL as a game, do you visualize it as top-down/2D or open world/3D?

I imagine The Mage's Lantern as 3D, but a mix between Breath of the Wild and Skyward Sword's gameplay. I'd want to make a lot of it include free-roam elements to get the player immersed in the world, but certain parts of the map would only become available as the story progresses as not to have any confusion or limitations! I love a good linear story too much.

💖 What's a detail you really love about your OL that you want to talk about more?

Oh this one is hard. ^^" I'm not the best at picking out things I like about my stuff, but I will try for a couple. 🫡

TML — I like that I managed to make the plot thread of Link's mother haunt the narrative in the revisions! She's actually a favorite of mine now!

TPH — I think the designs are what I'm most satisfied with. In a weird way, Link and Zelda feel like they match? Even when they aren't in their matching regalia. I tried really hard to match BotW vibes with Zelda 1 vibes and I think I got there eventually.

👑 What's your favorite trait to play with in an OC Zelda?

From a design standpoint, it's dresses!! A lot of my older OC Zeldas only exist because I wanted to draw dresses and try designing a unique fashion "voice" for a Hyrule (TML Zelda being the biggest example, TPH Zelda being a close second).

From a character standpoint, it's got to be how she navigates the odds being stacked against her so frequently. How does her determination shine through? How does she showcase her gifted wisdom but still manage to make mistakes? How can she be a role model, but still human?

To use TML as an example again, it's really important when writing her that I remind the reader she's still a kid despite everything she's managed thus far. Sure, she stabbed a guy (or two), but that wasn't the most important feat of hers. I'd argue it's a lot harder for a kid to accept when someone she loves is going to die, and it'll be in vain unless she fulfills his last wish of leaving him behind. But had she not made the right call, she would have died. She knows that, but isn't she still scared? Zelda has always seemed like the strongest character of the franchise to me because of that consistent trait, so I try to always include it! :) She's resilient as hell!!!!

I’ll be honest, it’s difficult for me to write these ones because I’m not experienced in the slightest so I apologize if it comes across as like childish? or something.

Freddie walks into the bedroom and a grin spreads across his face

“Babe what are you doing?” he laughs, gliding over to you

He pulls you up to him and kisses you deeply until you’re so breathless that you have to pull away

“I want to make you feel good, Freddie,” you whisper, unsure of your words, “I just don’t know exactly how...”

“What do you mean?”

Something clicks in Freddie’s head after you said that and he nods, sitting down on the bed and placing his hands on your hips

“Want me to help?” You stepped closer to him, resting your hands on his broad shoulders and nodded in response

His takes his hands off your hips to remove his jacket and you reply by unbuttoning his shirt and pushing it off; leaning down to capture his lips in a heated kiss that you could feel all the way to your toes.

You slowly made your way down his torso to unbuckle his belt, revealing his tight boxer briefs and waited for him to tell you what he wanted

He seemed to be waiting for you to ask him, so you began kissing his inner thighs and listened to the noises he made. Your hands moved a little faster, quickly making their way to the waistband of his briefs

“Not so fast baby,” he breathed, “I liked what you were doing before”

“It wasn’t too slow?” you asked

“Not at all”

Eventually, you get him completely undressed and slowly take him in your mouth but when your bobbing was too fast for him, he guided you by placing his hand on your cheek so you would look up at him.

You continued to look at him as he filled your mouth, looking down only to prevent yourself from gagging

His hand found it’s way to the back of your head and allowed you to increase your speed slightly.

💡 How'd you come up with your OL? -- For TPH

Zelink Week 2024 prompts felt very linear, in a way? They felt like they could tell a cohesive story on their own! So, I followed the vibes and decided on writing a fairytale. ^^ Fun fact, I wrote a lot of it very last minute (while out of town), and one of the chapters is the most I've ever written in one day! (In all seriousness I hated TPH for a while because I lost so much sleep over it LOL)

Link and Zelda immediately are on the same wavelength when it comes to fighting a kingdom-wide cataclysmic storm to the death. I just think that's funny for them.

📜 What's a concept you want to use in an OL but haven't had a chance to yet?

Strings of Darkness is one I haven't shared any of on Tumblr, but it's got some concepts I'm REALLY excited to eventually mess with: protagonist Impa, Dark Link & Puppet Zelda team-up, everything just kind of flipped on its head. But it's a much darker story than most of my others (or at least is more "in your face" about it), and I don't know how many people would be interested in that, so I haven't shared it yet.

We sure can! I love horror movies. Seriously, the more blood the better. But it makes me a very odd person to watch them with because I’m rarely affected the way other people are (especially guys) so I may actually write both. But for here, right now, I’ll do Haunted House :) It’ll be quick and cute and I hope you like it, anon!

So, I feel like Freddie hates scary stuff. Does anyone else feel this way? Like I think he likes maybe the more tame scary movies or like the “Scary Movie” series but doesn’t actually want to be scared himself, y’know?

So, to me, the haunted house would go something like this:

The two of you are wandering around the city for date night when you notice a sign for a Haunted House at Screemers. You’re close by, so you drag Freddie there against his will

He lets you take his hand and run with it for a second, but never actually moves, and you stop in your tracks when his arm no longer stretches out for you

“HEY!” you whine and Freddie giggles from behind you

“Let’s just go back home and watch some scary movie on Netflix”

“The last time we did that, you said you never wanted to watch scary movies with me again”

“You were just so god damn entertained. People were dying and you were laughing”

“I wasn’t laughing at them dying. I was laughing at the insanity of the situation. Those things would never happen in real life”

“But what if they did”

“Freddie...” you whined, continuing to drag him to the Haunted House and he sighed when he realized he wasn’t going to win.

When you finally get into the line, Freddie continues to whine and you promise him that if he behaves in the Haunted House, you’ll let him pick whatever he wants for next date night

“Anything?” he grins

“Anything,” you cock your eyebrow, “but only if you behave.” Immediately, his whining stops and you get to the front of the line fairly quickly after that. Once you walk in, everything is pretty tame and you prepare yourself for whatever the first scare will be when Freddie pokes your sides and you shout at the tickle he causes

“Freddie!” you laugh, smacking his hand away

“I got you!” was his only response before you grabbed his hand to lead him through the Haunted House.

Once Freddie realized that someone jumps out after every turn, he thinks that he won’t get scared anymore (because he can anticipate it) and steps in front of you. His confidence is immediately undone when someone jumps out from a picture frame and he yells obscenities at them as he shakes his head

You laugh at him and hold his hand, walking side by side through the rest of the House. You try to act like you’re scared every once in a while, jumping at the cobwebs getting stuck in your hair and curling into Freddie’s shoulder when someone pops out of a hole in the wall but you weren’t sure if he was buying any of it. Not until you’re out of it

“That was fun right?” you ask, smiling up at him, “wanna go again?” He shook his head and leaned down to kiss you

“Thank you” he whispered and you furrow your brow

“For what? Dragging you here? It really is my pleasure” you joked

“For pretending,” he said, gesturing to the building you’d just exited, “like you were scared. I knew you weren’t but I also know what you were doing. For me. So thank you”

You try to gauge his emotions by searching his face and it seems like he’s being truthful so you pop up onto your tippy toes to return his kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck as you did so. In return, he lifts you up and starts to spin you around

Y’all I’m so mad. I had something written that was much better than this but then my computer froze because I “ran out of storage” 🙄 but I’m going to give you what I can remember lol

I feel like Freddie is a cuddly kind of guy in general. Like he’s so big that I feel like he would just wrap around whoever he’s with in a big bear cuddle and he’d love it just as much as they would. So when Fall comes around and the weather inevitable drops, as it likes to do in Canada, he’d get über excited.

He’d make sure that he didn’t have practice or anything just so he could stay home with you and watch The Addams Family or It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

He’d grab a pile of blankets, turn on the fireplace, get himself comfortable behind you and tuck the two of you in

You’d feel him wrap his arms tightly around your waist as the movie plays and your breath hitches in your throat at the way his hands find themselves under your shirt

You’d feel him kiss the crown of your head and let his lips linger there for a second before giving you a quick peck in the same spot again

“You comfortable?” you ask

“Yes” he answers

You readjust quickly but accidentally elbow him in the side and he lets out a small yelp of pain

“Oh Fred,” you giggle, “I’m sorry”

A sly smile spreads across his face and you prepare yourself for whatever he’s going to do when he wraps his arms tighter around your body, holding your arms close to your body

“Now you can’t hurt anyone” he laughs and you try to wiggle out of his grasp to no avail, so you sink back into him

He traces kisses along your collarbone and up your neck to your ear as the movie continues in the background; you look up quickly at him to see him smiling back at you

“You’re cute” you say with a smile

“Thanks,” he laughs lightly, “so are you”

“I think I’ll keep you”

“I was hoping you would”

The two of you settle back into each other and you begin to drift off to sleep. You hear the leaves rustling outside your apartment and you know they must be littering the streets and the sidewalk by now but you were already falling asleep

“Don’t worry about it babe,” Freddie mumbled, feeling your body shift slightly toward the window, “I’ll get to it tomorrow. Or we can work on it together and play in the leaves when we’re done”

You looked up at him once more and noticed that his eyes were closed; he was just as close to sleep as you. You let your head rest on his chest, smiling at the sound of his heartbeat; the sound of it lulling you to sleep almost instantly

The last thing you heard was Freddie’s quiet words of adoration for you

“I love you”

You could feel the smile on your face grow and you knew there was no where else you’d rather be.
