it’s soooo nerdy and lame, but being one of the ISEF finalists for the research project that has grown into his ap research//seminar thesis was probably his crowning moment. his moms cried, ok. it was a big fucking deal.

god no. oddly enough, he can easily tell you where north is and might be able to find his way through the stars, but if he’s driving and you give him directions where to go he’ll still end up lost. reading a map is an utterly useless endeavor. it’s okay, though. ezra loves getting lost.

making his friends happy. he gets seriously anxious when people refuse to divulge to him what their problems are—sure, it’s not really his business, but how is he supposed to comfort them or try to make it better if they won’t just tell him what’s wrong? he’s also prone to assuming people are mad at him if their tone changes slightly, and will then spend hours (or days, or weeks) agonizing over it and trying to figure out what he did wrong, even long after the moment has passed.

Productivity is a term that completely flees both Dominic’s and Avery’s vocabulary when spending any amount of time that surpasses two minutes together. Really, could they be blamed? Because when they’re having the time of their lives together doing nothing, saying nothing, and thinking… very little, it’s a bit difficult to remember that there is probably something important that needs their attention. But really, if you ask either of the boys, they can spy no difference between productivity and moments filled with the words “If you don’t, you gotta kiss me!” proceeded by an extremely awkward or impossible task.

It’s no wonder people joke about how suspiciously close Dominic and Avery are, including the two boys themselves— each Valentine’s Day, they alternate bringing in the same large teddy bear, leaving the other to heave it throughout the school hallways for the entire day.

Dominic’s not the best singer, but he does it anyway— and very often whenever around Avery, adding his very displeasing vocals to the overly played pop songs on the radio and replacing every pronoun he can with Avery’s name.

Avery is a much better choice than Dominic when it comes to consolation. While Dom can listen and be as reassuring as his paranoia (something like he’ll say the wrong thing and cause someone to burn their house down in solution) allows him, the dark-haired boy quickly noticed that the talent to comfort comes natural to his friend. Seeing this, the fact has always rested at the back of his mind and he quickly deemed Avery the best person to turn to had he ever encountered an awkward situation he’d much rather keep secret from his mother.
