Which quote caption is better? “I’m not afraid of anything anymore” or “Master, you seem to have grown a mustache.” Two of my favorite quotes ngl.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking again about how my currently in progress Chrollo cosplay is made almost entirely out of materials that I had leftover from other projects, and I’ve been thinking about this one again too because of it. This version of Victoria Seras from Hellsing: Ultimate is one of the most inexpensive costumes I’ve ever made as it’s made essentially with about ten dollars worth of burgundy broadcloth, ten dollars worth of buttons (cries at how much buttons cost), and then a bunch of random stuff I had leftover from previous projects. Even the glove is from a costume (Yuu Hyakuya) where I lost one of the gloves so I had to get another set for it and then just had this glove lying around. Creating with a larger budget is always fun—there’s more opportunities to get precisely what you want—but creating with a smaller one is so much fun too—it’s so cool to see just how creative one can be with materials available. I’m looking forward to seeing what I can create like this after I’m down with Chrollo!
Also, shout out to the original version of this image where there is a whole gigantic battery pack (for my arm, which lights up) falling down the back of the shirt. I edited that out this time for the heck of it (and since this photo was taken, I have also learned that it’s super worth it to just buy new lights with smaller batty packs even if you technically have some battery operated string lights already), but man, still funny.
