“… little acts of kindness brighten the world.” –Mary Kent

When I do a Google search on the person behind the quote… I initially get a little disappointed when I can’t find anything specific. It’s just a regular person that was quoted and somehow it landed on a card in the deck of kindness cards. Then, when I start thinking about it… I am comforted by the fact that some of these people who were quoted are just, in fact, regular people. Not famous for anything big or profound, because we all have an opportunity to contribute something that perhaps bears repeating. And even though this week’s quote isn’t particularly deep or thought provoking, it certainly bears repeating any chance we get! Little acts of kindness do brighten the world! The ellipsis at the beginning of the quote begs the question, what was before this? Was it part of a speech? Though I didn’t dive too deep into researching this person or quote, I wasn’t able to find the answer to that question, so it shall remain a mystery.

Another short entry this week- not necessarily how I planned on doing this blog, but… everything happens the way it is supposed to, right?

“Do all things with love.” -Og Mandino 

Mandino- a man who, once an alcoholic that contemplated suicide, then became a world renowned writer and speaker. Author of the book: The Greatest Salesman in the World; which sold over 50 million copies in the world. Reading self help books regarding success helped him overcome his alcoholism and completely changed his attitude toward life! His focus philosophy is that we are all a miracle and we should make a choice to direct our lives with confidence that are congruent to the laws that govern abundance. 

How awesome! Although getting my own book published sort of put “The Kindness Times” on the back burner for a bit, I do enjoy picking the next quote from the deck of the kindness cards! It inspires me when I google the person in which the quote is by and learn so much about who they are and why they were picked to be quoted in the first place. We all go through highs and lows in life... some of us just choose to write about it so that the people who don’t write about it know they are in like company! We are all human, after all.
