*in a narrator's voice* with atsumu and y/n

Y/N swings on one of the swings in a nearby park, waiting for atsumu. She's had sometime to think about some things and it's time it's them who talks.

"Y/n!" She looks up to see Atsumu walking towards her with a smile before sitting on the swing next to her "hey..." he gives her another smile "i assume we have quite a bit to talk about hmm?" Y/n just nods and inhales but Atsumu stops her "but let me start okay?" Her shoulders drop and she nods again "sure" atsumu moves his gaze to the park in front of them "i already know you are gonna tell me you love kuroo...or maybe it's not love yet but you do realize you like him now right?" Y/N's breath hiches but she doesn't say no. It makes him chuckle "and i'm here to tell you that it's okay, maybe you two were too blind to see it but i had a feeling this was going to come eventually...seeing the way he looks at you and the way, weather or not you realize it, you look back at him. You two are far too close for there to be nothing there, like i said maybe not love from you but you do care enough to feel weird when he was with Rei" Y/N just bites her lip "i'm sorry..." Atsumu shakes his head, Turing his head back to her "it's okay remember? feelings are weird and they bloom at the weirdest times and reasons but when they do there is no stopping it like i told you i was still gonna care about you plus there is nothing wrong with wanting to give and get love from someone" Y/N cracks a small smile "damn look at you being all smart" "hey i'm always this smart" he pouts and y/n just laughs "ya know what yeah you're right you are and thanks...i mean it so much" he ruffles her hair "no problem now get going to him already everyone is done waiting on you two" Y/N plants a kiss on his cheek before running off, leaving atsumu to sigh and shake his head before something...someone catches his eye. Isn't that rei? He stands up and goes over to her and sits beside her, giving her a warm greeting.

*once again in a narrators voice* with y/n and kuroo

"Kuroo!"

Said boy pretty much jumps at the sound of name being called as he is walking towards his dorm room "y/n?" she stomps over to him and takes a deep breath, she did just run here, before giving him a little smile "i'm here to give you my answer..." Kuroo pales in worry but tells her to go ahead and y/n takes a step forward "you said you loved me but I can't say for sure I love you in the same way yet but i do care a lot for you, so much honestly and it's dumb it took all this for me to realize i'm dense i get it but i wanna be with you if you still want me..." Kuroo is pretty sure he stopped working for a second before his face blooms into a wide smile, the weight on his shoulders finally lifting as he gives y/n a big hug. Holding her tightly to his chest "yeah you really are fucking dense but i love that and so much about you of course I still want you idiot i have this whole time" y/n just smiles and burrows her face in his chest, hearing how loud his heart beat is pounding. It's a sound she could get use to hearing.

kuroo walks to his dorm room door after hearing a couple of knocks, he is still replaying the last conversation he had with y/n as he opens the door to reveal Rei smiling brightly as always. "hey rei!" he gives her a smile back but it doesn't equal in brightness as she walks into the tiny apartment "nice place you got" she jokes and Kuroo rubs the back of his neck shyly "thanks i did a whole lot of cleaning cause it's hard to keep it this nice with three guys living together" he shuts the door "ignore the film stuff i was editing a video i took with bo before you got here..." he gestures to the cameras and laptop on the table as they walk into the kitchen "no worries, i'm just excited to try out this y/n approved dish of yours" he laughs softly, grabbing pots and pans "it's gonna be good trust me"

for a basic pasta dish it is very good rei tells kuroo as they wash the dishes together "thanks! i am in charge of cooking dinner around this place so it helps to know a dish that never fails" rei laughs, as she dries a glass "makes sense why y/n likes it so much" she winks at him and the tiny smile is clear to see on his face "speaking of y/n...don't you think it's about time you told her how you felt?"

Kuroo almost drops the glass plate

"W-what? What do you mean?" Rei just laughs again "sorry was they too forward? I think everyone is waiting for you two just to talk things out" Kuroo doesn't understand "but..." "listen rooster head, i like you but it's more as a brother plus anyone with two eyes can see you are way too head over heels for y/n to really even move on" Kuroo's shoulders fall "she's got a boyfriend..." "so doesn't mean you shouldn't at least let her know about what's been going on, haven't you been dealing with this all by yourself for too long?"

Yes. Yes he has.

and he knows rei is right but now he just doesn't know how to deal with rejection. He doesn't want these feelings to ruin the relationship they already have. Rei places a hand on his shoulder, clearly seeing his is overthinking about it "y/n cares about you dork, even if she doesn't feel the same she is still gonna care for you but something tells me she just might feel the same way" Kuroo blinks, surprised "no way how could you tell?" Rei just laughs and sends him a wink "call it a good guess"

Kuroo awkwardly tells rei sorry about everything even though Rei told him not to feel bad, no feelings were hurt and she is a better position as a wingwomen then a replacement anyway. So once rei leaves, kuroo is yet again alone with his thoughts about y/n. There was just so much to say, where do they even start?

"Thanks for taking me out Y/N" Kuroo mumbles softly while finishing up his tweet as you look around the cafe. "No problem, I know how much you like cat cafes so i wanted to take you to one Atsumu recommended" Kuroo just nods as you keep talking "and I wanted to cheer you up!" He sighs "I told you I wasn't upset or anything" but you roll your eyes "Kuroo..we have been friends for a while now I know when you are lying to me so spill already"

What does he say? oh hey i have liked you for the longest time but you have a boyfriend and it makes shit weird now? of course not. So in a feat of slight panic Kuroo blurts out "just been feeling lonely...I don't wanna be stuck with you dorks for the rest of my life" He watches as your eyes light up "So you are looking for a girlfriend!" Uh oh.

NO! "yep! i need a girlfriend i guess haha" Kuroo doesn't even know what he is saying but you look so excited as you start rambling about being able to find him someone really nice and how you two should go about it like online dating sites or not. Ignoring the tightening in his chest, Kuroo chats away with you knowing all too well he is digging his own grave with this.
