Like the musical, it is a story in two parts. If you’ve been waiting to read until it’s finished, the first book wraps up like an ending and won’t leave you too strung out for more.

Book Two will be a less difficult read, for those that found themselves needing to skip certain chapters. It will be more “dark magic and blood” violence and less “predatory monsters in power” violence. I’ll be providing a summary that will make reading Book Two possible without reading the first, though obviously reading the first is recommended.

Tumblr people are the first to see! Thanks @c-rose2081 for once again providing a stunning poster for “The Kidnapping of Glinda the Good”, this time for Part 2! I love it!

Much like the story itself, there are many little details in this poster that you’ll pick up on, the longer you look. My favorite thing about it is the color scheme. A world of blue, with the emerald rolling in…SO good! Especially because, even though this poster doesn’t feature Elphaba, she’s there in other ways. Look in Glinda’s hand. Look at the broken window. The color palette of blue - canonically the color of Gelphie love. UGH I ADORE IT!

Chapter 36 - “Something Important”

Also known as “the one where blondie finally wakes tf up” 😂

This chapter has the most formatting in CSS I’ve ever used. I just adore visually telling the story as much as my words do, and I hope it wasn’t too much. We won’t see as much complex formatting for a while after this, but it worked PERFECT for the space I needed to have Glinda existing in, here!

Trying to picture it now, the once bursting orange tones and rich pinks of the falling sun were devoid of color, cast into…

…sepia and gray.

Leaning into Glinda and quietly delighting in how putting a pink flower in her hair saw the drop of a more practiced smile, and revealed something almost a little shy.

How when he drew her close on the dance floor and made her laugh - actually laugh, not her soprano giggle - he just wanted to pull back the admittedly adorable mask that this girl had on and see who he met underneath.

Maybe she was a little like him…
