wow. that is really amazing of you. i don't think i could handle teenage!me and i actually managed not to get pregnant (i'm sure my dads grateful for that if nothing else, snort). i just wanted to say that. like, wow. :)

Thank you, all.  I really appreciate these messages.  We're doing the best we can with what we have, but sometimes that's just not enough, you know?  And we knew, taking this job on, it would be difficult.

Teens, even good ones --- man, I don't know how my mother dealt with me.  I was such a know-it-all at 16.  (I didn't rebel or smoke or drink, I wasn't even having sex at that age -- I was just a demanding, ungrateful, know-it-all, like most teens.)  I was a good kid, but having experienced it first hand, let me say that teen ATTITUDE, the 'I know more than you do', the ungratefulness, the demanding nature, it's all a huge struggle to respond to.
