“Nietzschean criticism of man and appeals to overcome him were extremely congenial to Lenin’s contempt for the Russian national character. Inheriting his views from Russian radicalism via Chernychevsky and Tkachev, Lenin saw the typical Russian as a passive, inert creature with an inherent slave morality, the most sinister manifestation of which was Oblomov; he was especially critical of the Russian peasantry. Lenin dreamed of creating a Russian homo novus: his idea of social revolution was inseparable from his idea of a cultural revolution which would purge the new, perfect society of old human types that were unfit for the future. Not man as such should be overcome, according to Lenin, but specifically Russian man. The contemporary Russian people was merely raw material for the future, a Nietzschean bridge for the process of national reconstruction for which no moral criteria were needed. To Lenin, the remaking of Russia was more a problem of cultural anthropology than a problem of class struggle in the Marxist sense.”
Take care of your peace - do not watch the news." Run from the news. Another person is addicted to the news, like a heavy smoker from tobacco. News in the morning, during the day, in the evening, news analyst at the end of the week. Well, what is it? Who was killed? Who has trouble? As a sweet treat, a person is taught to consume information about other people's misfortunes. Bloodshed, war, disaster. Someone will say, but how else? Maybe not today otherwise. But the prophet Isaiah writes about this: “... He who covers his ears so as not to hear about bloodshed, and closes his eyes so as not to see evil, he will dwell on the heights. Bread will be given to him, his water will not run dry ”(Is. 33, 15-16). According to the prophet, there is a link between bribes and violence on the one hand and the consumption of negative information on the other. “We are not such a life.,” says the man in his defense. And how will it be otherwise, if the flow of information every day convinces him of this? Like everyone else is doing this, why am I worse? Take care of negative information. Because the one who will save his hearing and vision is promised peace. Bread will be given to him, his water will not run dry.

I was planning to write about this firearm in the near future but it always was the last one in the list of such firearms (rare, experimental Soviet/Russian guns) to write an in-depth article about. And the reason is the extremely scarce information available about this firearm. This gun is literally something mysterious. However, recently … Read More …

I have a question for the more technical side of the gymternet. I’ve noticed a few times that gymnasts don’t always do Tkachevs the same way. Some keep the V shape throughout the entire skill while other straighten out in mid-air.
For example, look at the inbar piked Tkachev. Both Sophie Scheder and Ana Padurariu straighten their bodies after the inbar before piking it down for the Tkachev itself.
On the other hand, Kelly Simm does it keeping the piked shape during the whole skill, never quite straightening her body.
Also, on the stalder straddle Tkachev (Ricna) some gymnasts clap their feet after the stalder before going into the straddle position, while others just keep the straddle shape throughout. See Ragan Smith who "claps" her feet (at 0:18),
while others, like Laurie Hernandez, just keep the straddle shape (0:29)
Is one technique more correct than the other? Or is it just a matter of preference? Also, is one more difficult than the other?
