Jake is an essential worker, working for a local government and I am a licensed CNA going working on my nursing degree. When we had our son I was given the ability to be able to stay home with him and focus on him and school. My husband can't stay home. He's keeping a city running. Every morning we start our day with @taylorswift and dancing and end our days to her music as well. We are finding a way to dance through all this craziness and teach our child the importance of being silly during dark times. Thank you Taylor for giving our little family an outlet during this time. You know how everyone says “sleep when the baby sleeps”? Yeah, well, who’s going to wash the bottles, fold the laundry mountain, clean up that mystery puddle, or finally eat something other than toddler scraps?
So here’s my real hack:
Sleep when you can.
When the baby’s sleeping, and you still can’t sleep because your brain is racing? Lay down anyway. Stare at the ceiling. Scroll your phone with one eye open. Let your body rest, even if your mind won’t.
Not every nap will be perfect, but every pause counts.
