buzzz being my favourite album of all time is really funny, because tipsy's music initially took me a bit to get used to. i really wanted to like their music because i stumbled upon buzzz one day and i thought the album cover was really cool (said album cover's palette has been used in a lot of my artwork!)
i believe the first song by them i heard was kadonka, a strange little tune with lots of bleeps and bloops. i didn't last very long, finding it a bit boring and unconventional for my taste. i then listened to sweet spot and i still wasn't sold. then lo and behold, the seductive and sweet sound of hot banana graced my ears. the funky bassline was pretty good, but when i was first hit with that little "buh-da-da-da-daaaah", i felt... something. i felt like the song had grabbed my heart and gave it a little squeeze. it was so teasing, so cutesy, so intimate, so unique! and to this day, it never gets old.
over the three years of this album being in my life, i've grown more fond to some tracks i never really gave a chance (except electric blue eyelashes that track SUUUUCKS), particularly swingin' spaceman. i think it was around this time last year when i was infatuated with this song. sure, most of it's pretty bleepy-bloopy alien sounds, but then it rewards you with that blissful guitar part at the end... it's so serene
