Give me CONTROVERSIAL THANOS I want to feel ATTACKED AND OFFENDED
OOF OK LET'S GET THIS BREAD
The thing with Thanos, is that you have to remember where his roots are. Behind the very extreme politics, he was and always has been A CHILD OF TRAGEDY AND HORROR. He watched his home world collapse under horrific circumstances, and then watched it happen again and again and again.
He has seen the worst horrors imaginable. He has seen children mercy killed by their mothers, because otherwise they would have starved or worse. He has seen people exploited in the worst ways because they wanted to live, and other people wanted to make others suffer. And even before things get that bad, he sees it everywhere. He sees people starve for no good reason except that those in power choose to put themselves first. He sees children die in pointless petty wars over nothing, in the name of hollow vendettas and selfish wants of those who could stop it if they wanted to.
But they don't.
Because they have no incentive to. There was no hammer to come down on them and make them suffer the same, and so they don't care and the cycle repeats and repeats and R E P E A T S.
He didn't start out wanting to become a weapon. He eventually realised that nothing would change, though, unless he BECAME ONE. That if he became the hammer, that would wipe half the universe and make them see that value is intrinsic-- things would change.
He realised that it was going to have to be him. No one else would do it. And if it took weaponizing his adoptive children to do it, then it was worth it for the billions of children who would ultimately be spared the horrors they otherwise would have endured.
Even if it's reactive and extreme, his position is one of DEEP AND ABIDING TRAUMA AND VAST EMPATHY. It's a broader version of a 'stitch in time'. One final atrocity, to prevent countless more recycled endlessly through time.
Which is why on an interpersonal level, he is communicative and rational. He knows the people against him mean well, that they are young and idealistic and haven't lived through the horrors he has, and that isn't their fault; but they also don't have the scope he does to know that it is a pattern that has so far been unbroken and HORRIFIC. It's why he is patient with Stark and Wanda. He understands, he just has a much wider and darker scope.
His question is this: Would you do differently, if you knew for a fact that this action would put a stop to billions upon billions of children suffering and dying across the future on countless worlds? And if so, you're a colder man than he.
Oh look, you're not dead. I thought you were and was ready to start the funeral arrangements. How you been?
She jumps.
“Ah! N-Not dead, no! Just busy, very busy indeed.” She smiles a little shakily, but moves in for a hug from the Canadian. “I’m alright! Just a little tired.. But how about you? I haven’t seen you in such a long time.”

They had left.
They had left him. All his hard work, all his hopes and dreams, all the time he had put in to make the world a better place… and they had left.
Tears of rage fell down his face, how could he have been so blind?!? How could he have let this happen?!
There was nothing left, the mansion, home, had been abandoned by all but him. Everywhere he looked felt like a stab to the heart.
Burning.
The mansion was engulfed in Hellfire. It had started at the very top, in Julien’s room, and had quickly consumed the entire mansion. Any attempt to put it out failed and the fire raged on till there was nothing but ash and smoke. In the centre of it all knelt a glowing figure, too bright to look at fully. Another figure stood in front of him, wings and sword aflame. It was there but a moment before vanishing, and all that remained was ash, smoke, and whoever was slumped over in the middle of it all

Send “📂“ for a random yet completely useless headcanon I have about my muse
When he’s driving in the car on a hot day, Kyle prefers having the windows down than having the air conditioner on, because he likes the feeling of the wind. (Of course, however, if he’s driving with someone else then he’ll cater to the preference of whoever he’s travelling with).
*chin hands* talk meta to me about his feelings on americans/the north american continent.
Americans are friendly. Botheringly so. It boggles Danny’s mind that they seem to be at once so open and trusting and yet paranoid about every potential threat. They make him think of, like, a predator luring in prey by flashing pretty colours and offering warmth only to strike once the victim is no longer paying attention.
Part of this stems from Danny being incredibly adept at reading for emotions and figuring out someones tell for a lie while being used to the relatively introverted British populace. Someone used to “The Great British Reserve” makes turning attention to the Americans something akin to watching a programme at a normal volume, suddenly the commercial is entirely too loud and there’s a scramble for the remote to turn it down. American expression of friendliness and willingness to approach strangers is, essentially, system overload or overstimulation of the things he normally has to purposefully seek out.
It scares him.
tinyballofcanadianrage a réagi à votre billet : Nick would absolutely love most modern technology...
What a fucking loser lol
You’ll have to say that to his face, he doesn’t own a mobile.
