Here's one i was excited by the whole way through.

it was my first attempt at forging and brazing a more complex guard, i actually ended up burning off the sleeve i forged into the end of the guard as an attachment point for brazing and had to improvise

i also just really love single sided swords, tbh, i think aesthetically they match much more with my mental archetype of "sword", tho there are some cartoony exceptions

My second big experiment! I had no idea if i was gonna be able to make the hilt on this the way i thought when i started, but it all turned out ok. I got one one joint slightly too high but im trying to accept that as one of those "only the maker notices" things.

This whole idea just came from me seeing something called a "mortuary hilt" and really wanting to make one. It's supposed to just be reminiscent of a ribcage.

The blade also has a slight "waist" to make it more torso like. I was originally going to give it a very ambitious Y-shaped fuller, but with the geometries that turned out, i decided to just go for a kind of weird partial upper fuller.

Finally took pictures of my latest batch (and the small kitchen knife like ones from the last batch) so its pictures of swords time again!

Gonna start off by finishing the last batch with this trio of experimental knives.

I tried making a khanda! It's a structural steel blade with fittings of brass and the hilt in lined with faux black velvet.

From what i know, its a holy symbol for sikhs and is center featured on their identifying emblem
