In the 2018 Hulu documentary "Tiny Shoulders: Rethinking Barbie," those working for the Barbie™ brand were very direct in their descriptions on how the brand was financially tanking, overall. Barbie just wasn't having the same impact it once had. It was seen as more of a symbol of unattainable beauty standards than a role model of friendship and success for young girls. Their Hail Mary attempt at saving it was making Barbies of varying sizes, and it wasn't as successful as desired. Fast-forward to the year of our Lord 2022. The Barbie movie is announced to come out the following year. Suddenly, the world is pink. Dozens and dozens of outside brands are collaborating with the Barbie brand. It would appear that this movie is not just "saving modern cinema," but Mattel's Barbie brand, as a whole. In this essay, I will
