#tiny carlos

Carlos is actually small, for a tennis player. He doesn't notice most of the time because, well, he's ranked number one. He towers over everyone.

But there are times when it crosses his mind. How small he is.

When he has to stand on tiptoes to hug other players in greeting -- so his face doesn't get mashed into their chests, awkward and girlish. When his serve isn't as powerful as he would like -- levers not as effective at generating power as someone blessed with long limbs.

When he stands across Jannik Sinner, who leans in close to hear what he has to say at the net, and to tell him low and warm in return: "I hope we play a couple more times."

When Jannik makes him work for it on blue, on red, on green, makes him think all is lost, that's it -- one point away from victory -- mean eyes hard and staring, pale lips breathing easy. 

When Jannik lays Carlos down, gentle as you please, on too many hotel room beds, says, "Pretty boy, how do you want it?" before doing it as he likes anyway.

When Jannik pats him on the head, absentminded, after beating him at FC 25 with a Leão low-driven shot. That happens more often than he’d like. He’s a graceful loser on the court, but on the couch, he’s --

“Puto. Madre mía,” Carlos mutters. “This controller -- it’s broken, right?” 

Jannik giggles. 

Jannik makes Carlos feel small then, drags him over, and kisses him and kisses him and kisses him until Carlos is swearing for other reasons. 

When Jannik puts one of his big, big hands down Carlos’ pants and wraps around him, whispering, “That’s it, hm? So tasty. Biscottino mio.” 

Carlos shoves at his shoulder and groans, “Jannik.” He huffs. “That’s so stupid, Jannik.” 

“¿Con café y leche, sí?” Jannik says, eyes twinkling, hand squeezing at the word “leche,” and Carlos bites his cheek to stop from laughing. 

“Sí,” Carlos Alcaraz breathes out in wonder. “Sí, sí, sí.” 

He feels small on Jannik’s lap, letting his full weight sit on someone else, rather than bearing the pressure for once. 

“Carlitos,” Jannik tells Carlos as his hand grows more desperate, and the world shrinks to just the two of them. “Carlitos, I love you.” 

(Said in a really dramatic over the top voice. Falling to my knees ts.)

-blink blink-

Hiiiii my loveeee

-His eyes lit up and he gently reached his hands up to anon-

-He grins and leans into the head pets-

Oh! thanks!!

-he tried to eat it alas it is too big for his tiny body-
