may i ask for a tiny jack au where hiccup almost squashed him because he thought he was a fly
(I hope this is good omg, idek this was so cute in my mind but then it turned into craaaap iâm so sorry ahhhhhhhhh *flies into the sun and cries forever*)
Hiccup huffs frustrated and throws his screwdriver and magnifying glass to the table. He puts his head between his hands and tugs at his chestnut hair hard. He has been working on this prototype for too many hours now, and his brain is about to explode inside his skull.
A weak âmeowâ makes him look at his cat, whose green eyes are staring at him almost questioningly, perched next to him on his desk.
"The calibrations are too sensitive, Toothless", he shots his hands upwards in an exasperated gesture, "it wonât fly more than two meters before falling to the ground." The cats nuzzles his shoulder and purrs softly, noticing his ownerâs discomfort, and Hiccup smiles sadly in response. "I will never make it."
Toothless simply rubs his paws against his forearm and meows again, though this time it sounds slightly more convincing. Hiccup snorts and puts him to the ground, petting behind his hears as he murmurs. âGreat, if being a complete failure wasnât enough, now I also think my cat understands me.â He takes the tools in his hands again and with a sigh the freckled teen resumes his project.
A light buzzing sound near his ear distracts him after some minutes. Hiccup shakes his hand absentmindedly and try to focus on his work, but the sound is still there and he canât bring himself to concentrate anymore. By the corner of his eyes the teen can see that Toothless is pretty interested in whatever is bothering him, too, so he thinks it has to be some kind of insect, probably a fly or something.
Toothlessâ predatory instincts arenât usually this alert. In fact, the cat is a lazy ball of fur most of the time, only moving from its spot is Hiccupâs bed to be petted or feed by its owner. As the animal shifts in his haunches to jump at the cause of the teenâs distraction, Hiccup stays very still, looking at the catâs attempt to actually hunt something for the first time in its life with amused eyes.
When Toothless finally attacks, he catches the insect in its black paws and pushes them against the tableâs surface to prevent it from escaping, furry chest puffing out proudly as he meows and looks at Hiccup. However, he hears a small high-pitched cry, and he glances at Toothlessâ paws confusedly.
The freckled boy moves his cat away from its prey and he stares wide-eyed at it. Lying on the desk thereâs a tiny creature, not bigger than Hiccupâs thumb, with white hair and almost clear pointy wings. He takes his magnifying glass and stares more closely at it, noticing a pair of terrified icy blue eyes and also pointy ears. It looks mostly like and human being, except for the flying appendages, and heâs only covered in a tiny white cloth.
He exhales raggedly, amazed at its astounding beauty, but the creature shrieks afraid and stands up. It lifts itself some centimeters up into the air, but falls inevitably to the table, and through the glass Hiccup can see it scrunching its pale face in pain. He lets his green eyes roam over the small body and he gasps when he notices that one of his wings is twisted.
"Iâm sorry", he murmurs, "Toothless must have hurt you, but he was only playing, I swear." The creature looks at him frightened, but Hiccup can also appreciate a curious expression in its eyes and smiles shyly. "Umm, Iâm Hiccup, Iâm an human", he moves one of his freckled fingers to its chest very carefully, and he stops mid-way like asking for permission. "Maybe Iâve fallen asleep at the desk and Iâm having weird dreams again", he talks to himself for a moment, but then the tiny thing touches his fingertip with its hands and Hiccup smiles astounded. "Awesome."
The creature smiles timidly as well. The teen scoops it really slowly into his palm and moves it closer to his face. âWhat are you, little thing? A fairy?â It chirps in response, and even though Hiccup canât really understand what that means, he laughs quietly. âYou look like a snowflake.â The fairy bends its head slightly to the right, a puzzled expression between its pale brows. Hiccupâs cheeks flush; itâs really beautiful. âLetâs take a look at your wing, okay?â
The creature chirps again, curling into his warm palm.
