tinkerbellrun replied to your photo “WHAT?!? Can I go from zero to Ironman in 5 months?”
I think that YOU (you=not meant generally) could do it (not speaking from experience, though). Try and see :)
For the first 5 minutes after I learned about IMMaryland, I seriously contemplated about whether or not I could push through an Ironman with 5 months of training. Then, I snapped out of it and realized it would probably have to wait at least one year.

You know your WHOLE life will be consumed with training and sleeping don't you? If you decide to do it, get a proper coach, as anyone with IBD is in a constant state of inflammation & recovery & more vulnerable to immune system collapse than your average athlete.
Yeah, I heard the training is a big time suck. A co-worker of mine who has done a few Ironmans said he would get up at 3 in the morning to ride his bike trainer. And yes, if I do decide to do it, I'll have to join a training team of some sort to have plenty of guidance.

2:49:37 or faster :) What’s your PR again?
I ran 2:58:54 at the Chicago Marathon last year. Guaranteed entry for men this year requires 3:15 or faster. Not nearly as strict as NYC (2:45 for men under 40).

That’s really impressive that she can fly and drink out of the cup at the same time!!! I have to actually go to walking SLOWLY if I want to drink out of the cup (even if I squeeze it like she is doing).
Me, too! If I keep on running while trying to drink out of the cup, I spill water all over myself.

I used to get so itchy that I wanted to rip my skin off, but then I realized it was because of dry skin. So now, when the air is cold outside I always moisturize before I go running and never have the itches anymore :)
The itchiness happens to me in the cold and the warm weather. I guess I'm not lotioning my neck and face as much as I should!
