Tim was born in Evansville, Indiana, and charted two more times, in 1973 and 1984, neither making the top 40. The song was one of the first to use a drum machine instead of real drums.
Sade recorded the song on her 1984 debut album. It has also been covered by Joan Osborne, Maria Muldaur, Santana, and Steve Winwood. It is also heavily sampled on Drake's 2015 number one, Hotline Bling.
