Based on the theory that the whole game is a dream in Hugo's coma,

What do you think the off-game characters would look like in "reality"? And who would they be to Hugo?

[[Oo, interesting! I'm not sure if that theory is going to be the canon for this blog specifically, but just to answer your question I'll give you a couple thoughts bc it's v interesting. Also don't worry! Your english is great!

I've studied some, like... very basic psychology, and there I learned that basically... when you're dreaming anyone you see in your dreams will have been someone you saw in real life at some point in time. Your brain is incapable of just making people, so what they found is that... when someone you don't know appears in your dreams? It's probably some random stranger you saw on the street, or a picture you saw on the internet. It's really quite fascinating, actually.

But, the reason I bring that up is because my initial thoughts on this subject - the theory - were that everyone in Hugo's "comatose dreamstate" were people he has seen before - whether they were significant to him or not. I could honestly see Batter just coming from maybe attending a baseball game or two, or some significant figure in his life watching a lot of the games on TV, and his brain picking out "generic baseball player number 5" and throwing them into this little world.

I saw another theory that maybe Batter serves as an abusive "father figure" in OFF because that's what Hugo deals with in real life. Or because he maybe just doesn't have a father figure, and so his mind created one, but did so very badly. I like that theory quite a bit, and pairing it with what I said above, his actual father figure could have been into baseball, and so his mind made his father a baseball player. Maybe that's a stretch, but I think it's interesting.

As far as the others go? For The Judge, I think it may be a family pet that Hugo maybe felt close to. There's a phenomena in Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) in which an alter can be formed based entirely on a family pet, and will take it's place protecting the system as Ginger the Cat. I think something like that could have happened, and so The Judge, if that was his name in real life, being maybe the only "nice" figure in Hugo's life besides maybe The Queen, may have taken on the form of this really wise cat who just wants the best for Hugo. Valerie is in much the same vein, but... well, maybe he died.

The Queen I want to say is obviously his mother... but dream-nightmare state may have twisted her? I know her shape in the game is pretty vague, and some people interpret her as having no face and tentacle arms (like me) while others are like "no she has hands in there". So I think it could go either way.
