Timetable of the ages of the Todorokis, Natsuo's girlfriend, the Himuras and the people working under the Todorokis in the year in which Shōto started attending at U.A. high
In my posts, to help people have a better idea of the timeline, I generally post a small timetable which also includes the ages of the Todorokis in the year in which that chapter/flashback is taking place.
Now, you might wonder, how do we know the ages of the characters and their birthdays?
For the birthdays the sources are the fanbooks and the profiles shared through all the manga.
For the ages instead we have to either look at the story or at the profiles as the fanbooks do not include them.
But how do we exactly tell the characters' ages?
Midoriya’s profile is the first profile shared which includes the character’s age. The profile is at the end of chap 2. Timeline wise at the end of chap 2 we are of February 26th and Midoriya is said to be 15, which makes sense. In order to attend to the first year of high school, Midoriya needs to be already 15. His birthday is in July and so on the 15th of July he will turn 16.
Shōto’s profile is at the end of chapter 11 and gives his age as 15. We are at the beginning of the school year, which in Japan starts in April. Since Shōto is born on January 11th, this means Shōto has recently turned 15. So yes, Shōto was born the year after the year in which Midoriya was born.
In Japan one needs to be already 6 before starting school so all the kids born between January 1st and April 1st are called ‘Hayaumare’ (早生まれ “born earlier (than April 2nd)”) and will start school in the year in which they turn 6, while the children born between April 2nd and December 31st are called ‘Osoumare’ (遅生まれ “born after (April 1st)”) and will start going to school the year after they turned 6.
Going on.
Enji’s profile is at the end of chapter 37 and gives his age as 45. We are in May and since Enji is born on August 8th he will turn 46 by the time his birthday comes around.
Natsuo and Fuyumi's ages are given in chap 187 as respectively 19 (Natsuo) and 22 (Fuyumi).
Natsuo’s profile is at the end of chapter 189 and it confirms his age as 19. We are in November. Since Natsuo is born on July 1st he has already turned 19.
Fuyumi’s profile is at the end of chapter 192 and it confirms her age as 22. We are still in November. Since Fuyumi is born on December 6th she will turn 23 soon.
Tōya’s profile is at the end of chapter 240 but it doesn’t give his age, it only tells us he is born on January 18th so he too is an Hayaumare like Shōto.
Chapter 302 tells us that when Shōto was 5, Tōya was 13. We are in a warm month as everyone is wearing short sleeves, and we know it is before July because Natsuo is still 8 and, of course, Fuyumi is still 12 so both Shōto and Tōya had their birthday and therefore they have 8 years of difference. This means that in the year in which Shōto turns 15, Tōya turns 23.
Sadly we were never given a profile for Rei, the fanbooks do not bother sharing with us her age and the story never let us know which age she is. Some fans speculated since between other married couples there are around 3/4 years of difference the same might be true for Enji and Rei as well. As far as there is no official confirmation though, this is just a fan theory.
Burnin’s profile is at the end of chap 244 and gives her age as 25. We are at the beginning of January of the year after Shōto started high school. Since Burnin is born on January 18th this means that Burnin hadn’t had the time to turn 26 yet (but she will soon) and that she therefore turned 25 in the year in which Shōto started to attend U.A. high.
At the end of chap 248 Horikoshi devotes a page to Kidō and Onimā but it is not a profile and do not tell either their birthdays or their age. They might be around Burnin’s age... or not. We have no canon info to say so.
As of now we do not know how old they are or when they were born or which are their true names. Actually, in Onimā’s case we do not even know which Quirk he has, only that it is not a fire Quirk (Furuhashi was told by Horikoshi Kidō and Onimā do not have a fire based Quirk and shared this info at the end of chap 79 of Vigilantes) and that it is implied that Onimā is fire resistant (as in chap 349 he worries for Kidō who isn’t).
Kurumada’s profile is at the end of chap 250 and gives his age as 47. We are still in January and Kurumada is born on March 4th so this means he hadn’t had the time to turn 48 yet and that he therefore turned 47 in the year in which Shōto started to attend U.A. high.
Enji’s father made a small cameo in chap 356. We can also see his portrait in the room which the Butsudan (仏壇) which, is good to remember, contrary to fandom speculation is not Tōya’s room as a Butsudan is a small wooden shrine or cabinet found in Japanese Buddhist homes and temples, designed to house religious icons and honor deceased family members (whose spirit is assumed to reside inside it) so it existed in the Todoroki house WAY BEFORE Tōya’s death and should have hosted Enji’s father before it hosted Tōya. Probably 33 years had gone by from when Enji’s father died hence he stopped residing there, which is why his photo is on the wall and not inside the Butsudan.
It is believed that Natsuo’s girlfriend and future wife made a small cameo on the cover of chap 259 (she is behind Natsuo). Truth to be told Horikoshi never confirmed she is the girl behind Natsuo but it makes sense it would be her. Sadly we have zero info on her as Horikoshi didn’t even share her name with us. She however should be attending the same school year as Natsuo so this means in the year in which Shōto started attending U.A. High she either turned 18 (if she is an Hayaumare like Shōto, Tōya, Kurumada and Burnin) or 19 if she is an Osoumare like Natsuo, Enji, Fuyumi and Midoriya.
Rei’s father appears in chap 301 but in the manga he is hardly visible and we get a better image of him in episode 130. Again we have no info on him beyond the fact that he was the Himuras’ family head.
Geten has no profile and in the fanbooks no info is given about his birthday or his age or his real name, Geten being labeled as his Villain name. In the manga he is referred by Compress as an ‘otoko’ (男 “man”) while the fanbooks call him a ‘shōnen’ (少年 “boy”). I have no idea if Horikoshi retconned his status from man to boy, if he had plans for Geten to be revealed as a boy that then got scrapped, if those writing the fanbooks arbitrarily decided Geten was a boy due to his big eyes and youthful appearance or were told so by Horikoshi. We are told in chapter 387 that he is an Himura and this is all we know about him.
In chap 39 and 302 we see an old lady looking over Tōya, Fuyumi and Natsuo as they play. If she is the kids’ grandmothers or just a servant that is up to speculation.
