SKYNET IS SMART. the T-800 knows this; why else would it have sent one of their most expensive prototypes out for the hunt? if it had been any other prey, the would have sent an 800 or an 850. the metal alloys in the T-1000 are difficult to construct, and there’s no way to return the unit to skynet after its mission completion. in essence, skynet sacrificed their knight to kill a bishop. the 800 intends to use this move to checkmate its creators.
VARIABLES: silas bishop is paramount to the human resistance. he & his kind singlehandedly destroy thirteen skynet bases. he will save the future. PROBLEM: the T-1000 is immune to these transcendental abilities. it is unstoppable. unkillable. unavertable. it will destroy the future. SOLUTION: an old dog knows more tricks than a new one.
another problem: bishop’s got more than the 1000 to worry about. the 800 had asked john connor what do if it encountered internal resistance from bishop’s organization. damn the c.i.a., he’d said. they don’t know what’s at stake here. only you do. that responsibility had added invisible wiring to the terminator’s motherboard. only it knows what’s at stake. only it can do the RIGHT THING. metal jaws grind briefly, and the 800 swings its head to address its charge.
