They began in 1969,they are now a worldwide company. Just months after man's first landing on the Moon, DHL began operating the first international door-to-door express delivery service in the world. When Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn established DHL in 1969, they simultaneously invented the international air express industry. In the beginning, the three partners delivered shipping documents by air, so that they arrived at customs offices before the freight, and enabled goods to pass through customs with less delay. Think about it,their planes,ships,vehicles and even workers have enabled for people to have piece of home sent to them. I've never lived overseas but I know people miss things from PNG,and companies like this enable a piece of PNG to be packaged,and hand delivered to our citizens all around the world. This used to be considered art. These days we pass it without even a second glance. Maybe because we've seen it before, or it doesn't appeal to us like it did if it did at all. Our reasons vary but if you take time to appreciate it when you pass it hats off to you. It may still be considered art by a few purists but the very definition of art has changed with OUR perception. We'd rather have pictures of the sculpture,instead of even a miniature version of the sculpture. Why? Different reasons. Reasons that vary from person to person. Take me for example,i don't have art like this because I am yet to own a home to store my art.It's just sad that in a age where almost everyone has access to a camera we'd rather take pictures of ourselves as opposed to appreciating the art around us. Even when a considerable percentage of The Capitals' population had left the city for festivities this particular car park remained saturated. RH wasn't one of the first shops in The Capital,but they were the first to build a mall. By the time Stop and Shop and Food-world came to their senses they had lost the initiative. I can safely say this shopping centers revenue is a large percentage of Port Moresby's wealth. Now with their very own 5star hotel there's NO NEED to go anywhere else. I wonder if RH will ever lose the initiative because though they weren't the first to build a hotel either they seem to have outdone the existing hotels. Though I can't be ABSOLUTELY sure of this theory. It was a rainy day,I was walking and I had my phone with me so clicked a few things. Included was this speeding Land Cruiser or 5door as we know it. While working on this picture in post processing,something crossed my mind. This vehicle costs about a K100,000. That is if its a standard Land Cruiser. However,mag wheels,snorkel and more obviously costs a little more. I wondered if we such a poor country why is our country littered with K100,000 vehicles?If only the rich could afford this then we must definitely be a rich country.Bringing back to memory a newspaper article I realized both theories are incorrect.Most of these vehicles belong to the growing middle class.I wonder what's in-store for our country. On a rainy Friday I came across this empty school.All that was left of this institution were the guards outside.It's been closed for a few weeks nau,at least a month or two. I wondered what it would be like this was a school day.In those halls and classrooms however,is decades worth of moments.Good and bad ones alike,goals that were and weren't reached,even moments were hearts were broken. This empty street used to be a thriving passageway for students and workers in the capital. Before all the bus 9's stoped a few meters away from this street.This brought all the people who lived in the Waigani and Gerehu area down the streets that led to the bustop. Now with some of the buses going to the main bustop,this street has been reduced to what you see in this picture. However, at night this and the surrounding areas are filled with people who flock to enjoy the night life. Its sad though that this all happens right outside the police station. Over the years a few people have been hit making this crossing,the last victim I believe was a student of a school in the waigani area...
