Sara knew her one drunken night after finding out about Laurel had been a mistake a big one. Oliver was her past and she couldn’t stay in the past, not when the past was filled with so much pain. She had planned on just putting it behind her get back on the waverider and go back and save her sister. But no fate had another plan for her. After helping destroy Savage she became captain. Her new life suited her. That was until she started to feel sick. Not a normal sick no she was nauseous and tired and couldn’t kick it no matter what she did. Finally, after what felt like weeks, Gideon confirmed her worst fears she was pregnant with Oliver Queen’s baby.

She was all set to tell him when she found out he was dealing with enough. The team had traveled into the future and she saw him happy with a son just not hers. Knowing she now had to do it alone she did the best she could while still trying to captain the ship. However jumping forward and backwards in time while pregnant took a toll and when they broke time she took being fired as a sign it was time to go home. Really she had no other choice. While back, however, she did her best to avoid Oliver at all costs. The only person she told was her dad and he promised he wouldn’t say a word. She was five months pregnant and all was going great she had a small bump and was slowly adjusting to civilian life.

Very slowly, really she was itching to go back and fix the mess they had made. All was fine until Thea invited her over for a small party reconnecting movie night. Thinking it would just be her and Thea maybe Felicity Sara put on a baggy shirt and didn’t worry about it too much. It wasn’t until she walked in and face Oliver did she freeze. “Hey there Ollie long time no see what are you doing here ?” Sara asked hoping her small bump was hidden enough.

       It was a mistake, they both said to one another. Laurel’s death made the two of them grieve, and when they were both together... they went back into old habits and kept each other company for the night, just as they did in the past. The morning after, they decided that they should move on and not continue with something that would only break them, especially since it was “obvious” to them that it was only a coping mechanism. It wasn’t healthy, they said to one another. It wasn’t right; they needed to honor Laurel’s memory.

       Not too long after this, Sara had chosen to return to her team in the Waverider, and that was the last he had heard from her in a while. Oliver figured that it was what she needed---some space, some TIME---and so all he did was hope she was okay and kept working on bettering Star City as much as he could.

       One day, probably around five months later, Thea had invited Oliver to do a movie night with a few friends. He agreed, although he did not inquire about who else would be joining. It was obvious that the Queen had not expected to see Sara there by the way he stared at her with wide eyes and a mouth slightly agape.

       “Sara,” he answered almost awkwardly, forcing a smile in response. “Thea invited me.” He looked pointedly at his sister who just shrugged and went into the kitchen to grab the popcorn. Turning back at Sara, he brought his arms over his chest and continued to keep that forced smile on his face. Don’t act awkward, don’t act awkward... ugh, too late.
