“Even if one could change it, that wouldn’t undo what you’ve already gone through.” Ricard mused gruffly. His eyes lingered over the thinness of Add’s shoulders, how the young man just pushed food around on his plate instead of eating it.
Frankly, he was amazed that Add was even up and moving. The boy had the look of someone who’d been starved for a considerable length of time. That, coupled with the ugly crash he’d arrived with, had left him expecting to need a healer in the morning. Either to fix broken bones Add hadn’t noticed right off or to bury the body.
Yet, here he was. Sitting at the table and giving off an air similar to a lightly sulking teenager.
“That being said,” Ricard took another sip of his coffee, relishing the slight rush of caffeine. “You can start by looking after yourself a little better. We’ll solve your... time traveling problems at a later date.”
