Merry Christmas @ineedmyfriendback / @thelibraryismytardis! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, filled with great food, brilliant people and plenty of memories youâll remember for years to come.
Sparksâ First Solstice
It was a quiet Winter Solstice Eve. Vesta had parked herself on a beautiful meadow, which had become a winter wonderland. The kids had made snowmen, and enjoyed snow ball fights. But the most magical sight had to be the twins seeing snow for the first time. They were only a few months old, but their first Winter Solstice was already here.
Orianna, and Missy were sitting side, by side; wrapping their gifts while the children were fast asleep. Theyâd briefly share affectionate kisses as they got through their task, in front of the fire. This was the happy place, and had been since theyâd moved into Missyâs TARDIS. There were already plenty of happy memories in this room. Where once it had been simply, but tastefully decorated; it was now filled with childrenâs artwork, and family photos. There was even one of the day the twins had been born.
Orianna looked over at her wife, and her hearts melted. She was so lucky to have Missy. The Time Lady turned to her with a knowing smile. Sheâd felt Oriannaâs emotions through their bond.
âLove you too, hjarteya.â
Missy leaned forward, sweetly kissing her wife. The pair had just finished the twinsâ gifts, when Vesta let Missy, and Orianna hear their daughters crying. Missy sighed.
âTheyâll want to be fed.â
Orianna chuckled, and rubbed her wifeâs back.
âYou get comfortable, Ne Sarrill. Iâll get our little mischief makers.â
She got up, and dashed out of the room. Orianna moved through the corridors with barely a thought as to where she was going. The gods knew sheâd taken this path enough. Upon entering the nursery, she smiled and went to her babiesâ crib. The crib was large, and meant for the little ones to be able to sleep together. Two of Benâs hand made mobiles hung above it. The girls were whimpering now, and Orianna picked them up. As the months had gone on, sheâd gotten used to handling two babies at once.
âHello darlings. Is it time for dinner now? Come on. Letâs go find Mummy.â
The baby girls cooed at their Mama as she walked them back through the corridors to the living area. Both had snuggled into her, and rubbing at her chest. It was clear they were hungry.
Orianna found Missy back in the living. The Time Lady had taken the liberty of preparing herself for the twins to breastfeed. Orianna helped her wife with getting the twins into place, and then sat on the arm of the chair. She leaned down, and encircled her family in her arms.
âThis Solstice is going to be perfect,â Orianna whispered.
Missy turned her head, and kissed her wifeâs cheek.
âIt already is.â
The pair sat together, watching their little bundles of joy. Both babes were absolutely perfect in their mothersâ eyes, and that mindset certainly wouldnât be changing any time soon.
