My spouse earnestly looked me in the face yesterday and said that a problem with gaming is that it has always been a boy's club...and that he would love to see what an all-woman development studio could do.
I really did try to explain to him the gaming industry's vitriolic hatred of a) New Things, and b) Women, but he was so sure that gamers were ready.
And I am just sitting here like [Press X to doubt], but I don't really want to turn this in to a "you're not a woman, and you just don't SEE the same stuff I see" because it's not that he doesn't believe me, it's that he is on a very different corner of the internet and I don't have the time to wait for his paradigm to shift as he comes to terms with the fact that, yeah, society still sucks, man.
But...I also really want to see what a studio made up of not cis dudes could come up with.
