I don't normally draw Ratman with that kind of expression, but man. I reeeally need to show off more glimpses of his character outside of "comic relief" and "petty violence".

When he talks about hating someone, it's usually kind of juvenile in nature, but there are rare instances where it's straight up actual burning vitriol. Times where he gets a blackness in his soul that no one can course correct as he wants to crush your skull against a wall. He can't bounce back so easily from those moments.

It probably doesn't make much sense, but in a weird way, I feel like it's the same side of him that has the ability to stop [sharing every thought with Tim]. The side that gets [frustrated with his lack of personhood outside of Tim] or [kind of knows that he's not always wanted].

Ratman has more emotional depth than he (or Tim for that matter) give him credit for. And truly he could introspect, but that'd force him to realize that he's just as wound up and frustrated as Tim about his own lack of control, too. (It doesn't help that he's also an idiot and doesn't have the patience, bandwidth, or interest to do so HIOLKJFDL)
