One less person to annoy you on the street
You're walking down the street. You're not in that big of a hurry. If you're in New York, you're probably struggling to keep your personal space just that - personal - considering it's like fighting for your life as a pedestrian. But then you inadvertently make eye contact with someone carrying a clipboard. Uh oh. You know they want money and for something that probably needs money. Education, the homeless, children in Africa. It's not that you don't want to give to a worthy cause, but the interaction is just so awkward, so forced that you try and avoid it at all costs. Unless you're a Rockefeller with millions to spare for starving kids, smaller donations a best given at the comfort of your computer, where no one jostled you into it, and no one needs to know that you only gave $20. Well at least a part of that predicament has been solved. Tim Pryde has created Don-8R. (as posted by NotCot) A robot that encourages the public to donate money (in its back) by fun and empathetic interaction. I'd happily slip a 20 in the DON-8R. It's only in Scotland right now, but I'm hoping it's coming to a street corner near me. I'm tired of looking like a douche-bag for not donating to starving, homeless, uneducated people.
