He was getting better at spending time in crowds, surrounded by people without a mask to hide behind. Not good enough to stop it from getting overwhelming, however, and he had found a corner to try to get himself under control in. Someone must have found him, he realized dimly as a voice cut through the fog of his thoughts, and he reflexively sat in the chair she guided him to. “Uh, thank you,” he mumbled, barely remembering his manners.

Jax had never been shy about his body or even his scars.  He didn’t have a lot of them.  A few bullet holes, but nothing major.  He glanced over at her as her fingertips started moving across them.  “You all good?”  He asked.  “Or do you have some questions?”

“i could have handled it,” artemis snapped, her patience wearing thin especially now with this woman who had done what artemis herself could’ve done instead. “i didn’t need my ass to be saved. i’ve done it for myself and others countless of times. and i’ll keep doing that. i’m not some civilian that needs your rescue. i’m not helpless. so, thanks but no thanks for that.”

“I know that, and you know that... but does he know that?” he wondered, gaze flicking to the man in question and back to her, eyebrow raised slightly. It was her prerogative, of course, but that didn’t mean he had to be happy about it. He paused, lips pursed for a second. “I do like that you’re friendly... it makes up for my lack of it,” he admitted, tucking his hands in his pockets. His way of saying it felt like a balance he hadn’t realized he was missing, her demeanor to his.
