oh how ive missed talk of gayperion

OH SAME...I mean I never truly left but there were days where I DIDN’T think about them and I’m glad those are about to end as I get new material about these two. All the while I haven’t even made elaborate textposts about college gayperion and Rhys being Trans(tm) yet, so I’ve got lots to unpack and finally the energy to do so again!!

i mean.... sleep, mostly. bonus points if i have a cat or a girlfriend to cuddle. i also really like baking on cold/rainy days (especially if it’s pastry because pastry is so much easier to make in cold weather!)

ooh so a couple of years ago i got a village candle called ‘baking bread’ or ‘bread and butter’ or something similar? anyway it smelled EXACTLY like freshly baked bread and i’ve been searching for it ever since. otherwise anything with spice, warm scents like chocolate and cinnamon, red fruit, lavender

ah dw! tangets are fine tbh i do get the dissapointment, as you said theres too much thats just not holding up, and like esp nodas expressions & the way he draw action made GK so charming to me is just? not there? like the whole thing feels more like a you tried attempt rather then smth genuily good :( kinda sad bc i do love the manga A LOT

I have to wonder if this is because the studio making series hasn’t really done much. I looked them up and Golden Kamuy is one of four of the series they animated...but I haven’t watched the others series so I can’t say that for sure.

yeah i think the most bothersome thing is that its so inconsistent? the bear cub at the beginning was draw too after all.. in an interview the director said he made the bear cgi bc he wanted it to have a more scary and otherworldy feeling and that they couldnt draw the fur as realistically as noda did, so i kinda understand why they made that decicion (not that i like it) but that super doesnt explain why the wolf looks like he does…

Yeah the two different cg styles really did not help that scene. That cub really wasn’t drawn that badly either. So would have the grown bear really have been that much trouble to do though. I mean no offense cause the characters look genuinely good, but they aren’t trying at all to really reach how Noda draws things. The expressions, the gore, the angles and the weird differences in how each background is drawn.

And I don’t say any of this to be mean. An anime I really enjoyed ended recently it had its moments of awful of bad cg. One of the anime I’m watching right now has a particular jarring background that isn’t good. I’m a bit upset, because I was really hoping for this anime to look good and it’s not holding up thus far.

true true, tho who knows if itll be picked up for a further season :0 ppl seemed to be genuinly put off by the cgi bears (rip) tho idk how exactly its recieved in japan rn
