I cannot stop thinking about Bucky and Sam sitting together talking to someone and like...Bucky's kinda spaced out so Sam squeezes his leg,,, but Bucky yelps and JUMPS and Sam just *eyeballs emoji* until they're alone and he can properly bully Bucky over it // @tickle-bugs
Samās eyeballing Bucky face is just soooo in character, I canāt even. Iām picturing it right now and my life has been renewed. Totally if he does it in public, Bucky gets DEFENSIVE. Like he balls up and is ready to FIGHT. Sam straight up bullying him all the way back home about the reaction he got until he has enough ammo to fully take advantage of Bucky
"Did you just snort?" For the fic meme thing? //@tickle-bugs
--Magnus asked, grinning wolfishly at his partner.
Alec could neither confirm nor deny it. Denying it would only prompt the warlock to punish him for blatantly lying, and he didnāt really have to confirm it with how frequently the sound in question was punctuating his laughter.Ā
All he could do was laugh, curl around the hands that danced over his stomach with deviously tickling fingers, and bury his face in Magnusā shirt in hopes of either hiding the embarrassing laughter sounds or the red in his cheeks.
Magnus only chuckled, adding zings of magic to the tickling to Alecās lower belly to keep the happy, snorting laughter alight.Ā Though he loved to tease Alec for his embarrassment at such adorable sounds and reactions, Alecās laughter really was Magnusā favorite sound in the world.
(Thanks, bug! ^U^)
Send me an ask with the first sentence of a fic, and Iāll write the next five!
BLUE EXORCISTTTT!!! Rin my beloved <3 // @tickle-bugs

Summary: Catherine finds her husband boring, so he tries to prove her wrong. (This was originally supposed to be a drabble for @tickle-bugs using the sentences āNow, that was interesting" and "That's just a roundabout way of saying 'I like it'" and yet, it's turned into a 1.8k words-length fic. This one is weirdly canon-divergent, because I didn't want it to be too spoiler-y for Bug who had just started the show when they sent the prompt eons ago, so just...I don't know, roll with it? Hope you enjoy!!)
"He's boring," Catherine tells Marial as she dresses in her bedclothes. "We have absolutely nothing in common. I am a woman of science, art, and philosophy. And he, well..."
"Is a man of food, fights, and fucking?" Marial replies.
"Exactly! He does not interest me. He is rather handsome, but he seems as though there's nothing beneath the surface."
Catherine sighs, flopping back against her mattress. Her marriage to Peter has gotten off to a rather rocky start, and that's putting it lightly. They've come to a sort of standstill, now, tolerating one another, but not quite getting along.
"Men rarely have much lingering beneath the surface," Marial says. "I know you wished for a great love when you came here, but clearly Peter is...not that person. He could be a great person to kill, but not love."
A month ago, Catherine would have jumped for the chance to slit her husband's throat, but now, after seeing him almost die from that poisoning attempt...She isn't sure killing him is the right thing to do. Maybe growing closer to him is better. If she were to kill him, Orlo says that her whole scheme would blow up in her face. Abdication is the goal, and for him to abdicate...He should at the very least be susceptible to her charms, should he not?
She frowns, staring at the canopy of her bed. "Goodnight, Marial."
"Goodnight, Empress," Marial says, giving a sarcastic little curtsey that does manage to make Catherine's frown falter into a smile.
The next morning at breakfast, she voices her concerns to her husband. "I do not find you interesting," she says, rather bluntly. "Nor do we have anything in common. How is a marriage supposed to flourish if we have nothing to speak of?"
Peter stops stabbing at his food and looks up at her, confused. "What do you mean? I am a very interesting person.. I have many hobbies, some incredible stories to share.ā
"And yet, I do not wish to hear about hunting or your sex with Georgina," she replies, tone laced with snark.
Peter chuckles. "Then what would you like to discuss? The importance of women's education? The work of some European philosopher I don't care to read?"
"And that's exactly it! You don't care to read, nor learn, nor get to know me and the things that I care about," she says. She stands, moving from her end of the table to sit directly beside him. "If I am to be your wife, to bear your children, do I not deserve the common decency of you giving a single shit about me?"
Peter seems surprised by her outburst. He clears his throat, then asks, "What's your favorite color?"
She blinks at him in surprise. "Blue. Any shade, really. My mother says it brings out my eyes when I wear it. Yours?"
"I've always been partial to green. Perhaps because it reminds me of the forest, hunting with my father in the early autumn, just before the leaves have started to change," he replies. "There. We've learned something about each other. Now, you ask me something."
"What is your favorite book?"
"I don't know that I have one," he says. "I have admittedly never read much for pleasure. I did my studies as instructed, but never went out of my way to read something I was not required to. Not the answer you were hoping for, but the truth. And yours?"
"Diderot's Philosophical Thoughts," Catherine responds without a second thought. "I've read it nearly fifteen times."
"I knew it would be something of the sort," he says, his smile almost fond.
They spend the next half hour going back and forth, asking one another questions: Their favorite foods, stories about their childhoods. Catherine tells him of her sisters, her love for strawberries, and her childhood fear of large dogs. He tells her of his friendship with Grigor, his first broken bone, and his love of truffles.
When itās Peterās turn to ask a question again, he ponders for a bit before saying, āAre you ticklish?ā
Vodka almost comes out of Catherineās nose, and she cringes at the sting, coughing. āWhat? Thatāsā¦A childish question,ā she replies, feeling her cheeks go pink.
āAnd yet, you seem to think me childish anyway, so why not ask?ā he challenges. Thereās a mischievous glint in his eye that makes her heart skip a beat.
āMost people are,ā Catherine says, choosing her words carefully. āAt least, in my experience. There isnāt much science on the subject, but even Shakespeare speaks of it.ā
āSo, you are.ā
āI didnāt say that, I just saidā¦ā
Peterās hand reaches towards her, and she tries to bat it away with quite a bit of force, but he easily avoids her dainty hands and catches her side, squeezing it once before she jolts away with a muffled sound in her throat, something like a laugh.
āNow, that was interesting,ā he says, grinning.
Catherineās eyes narrow. āDonāt you have duties to attend to, dear husband?ā
āOh, but this matter seems much more pressingā¦ā
Catherine is about to stand and run from the room when Elizabeth enters, saving her with her demand that Peter go attend to those aforementioned duties.
āThis isnāt over,ā he tells her, shooting her a wink before departing from the room.
Catherine sits at the table for another moment, stunned, cheeks flushed and something fluttering in her belly. Normally, being with Peter fills her with disdain, disgust. Now, she just feelsā¦Flustered. And yet, somehow lighter than she had felt last night, wallowing in self-pity about her ass of a husband. Yes, he is still an ass, butā¦Theyāve just genuinely bonded for what feels like the first time, and the realization that Peter is not all awful has struck her like a brick to the face.
Later, she tells Marial of their talk.
āJust because he can recall warm, fuzzy memories of his childhood doesnāt mean he isnāt awful,ā Marial scoffs.
āI know that, butā¦It was different. We were almost getting along. Until he tried to tickle me, which I found rather unpleasant,ā Catherine says, face scrunched in thought.
Marial snorts. āIs that the method Iāll have to use when you wonāt listen to my incredibly intelligent advice?ā
Catherine gives her arm a playful swat. āNot if you want to stay on my good side.ā
After Marial leaves, again, she finds herself staring at the ceiling, hands crossed over her belly as she ponders her future. Could she love Peter? It could be possible, she supposes that many things are possible.
The next morning, she sits at his breakfast table alone. She assumes he is hungover, or still drunk, or busy sleeping with someone else when he is not punctual, as food is the only thing heās ever on time for. She huffs, choosing to thumb through a book while she waits for him.
She isnāt waiting long though, because after a moment, she feels a presence behind her, and before she can turn to see who it is, two hands have grabbed her sides and danced their fingers upward, making a quite undignified squeak burst from her lips.
Her book flops shut on the table as she whips around to see her husband, chuckling at his own jape.
āWhat was that for?ā she asks, feeling the strong desire to hit him. Or kiss him. She isnāt quite sure which, but she hopes it's the former.
āTo prove the answer to the question you were so determined to avoid yesterday,ā he replies, waltzing over to his seat.
Catherine feels her cheeks redden again and rolls her eyes. āYou are insufferable. And what about you, hm?ā
Peter smirks. āMost people are,ā he echoes her words from yesterday.
Heās about to call for food to be brought in when Catherine jumps from her chair and moves towards him, hands flying as she pokes and prods at every bit of him.
āWhat are you doing?ā he asks, and heās sort of laughing, but she suspects itās more at her than anything else.
āTrying to tickle you,ā she replies.
āOh, come on, you can do better than that,ā he says. āYouāre just jabbing me in the chest, thatās not exactly effectiveāah!ā
Catherine grins triumphantly as she finds a spot on his ribs that makes him react. He had sort of scribbled his fingers on her, so she mimics the same thing on his ribs, and suddenly, her husband, the Emperor, is giggling like a child and nearly sliding out of his chair to avoid her.
She hasnāt tickled anyone since she was young, probably rough-housing with her sisters, only to be quickly reprimanded. She forgot how powerful it feels, how ridiculously silly and yet oddly invigorating.
Peterās laugh is softer, higher in pitch that sheād imagined it could be. Sheās heard him laugh many times before, but never quite soā¦freely. Sheās so lost in the sound that sheās startled when he grabs ahold of her wrists and shoves them away.
At first, she thinks heās angry, but heās all red-faced and smiling and he looksā¦sort of adorable?
āYou are a cruel woman, tormenting a man before heās had his breakfast,ā he says, breathless.
āAs I recall, itās your fault we havenāt eaten yet,ā she replies, taking a seat beside him.
And so, the food comes, and they eat, mostly in silence, until Catherine speaks up again.
āYou could have pushed me away much sooner. Why didnāt you?ā she asks.
Peter doesnāt look up from his plate. āI didnāt want to hurt you,ā he says, but itās not very convincing.
āOh, because youāve been so gentle with me in the past,ā she says. Itās a low blow, and she knows it, because it makes him look up. Instead of looking pissed, he looks almost sad, embarrassed even.
āWell, when we spoke of our childhoods the other day, yours didnāt seemā¦very fun,ā he replies. āI never realized how differently women are raised. Even with all those sisters, you didnāt speak of any wrestling or playfulness. I thought Iād give you a bit more experience.ā
Catherine is torn between offense at his implication that her childhood wasnāt fun, and touched at the sentiment. āI suppose thatās sweet.ā
āAnd, I mean, I donāt exactly mind having your hands on me, in any capacity,ā he adds. āEven if itās in a non-sexual, sort of torturous way.ā
"That's just a roundabout way of saying 'I like it'," Catherine replies, smirking.
Peter doesnāt argue, he just smiles and shoves an entire sausage into his mouth, which makes her avert her eyes in disgust, but sheās smiling, too.
When she returns to her apartments with a spring in her step, Marial is already concerned.
Catherine is too busy pondering more things sheād like to learn about her husband than to listen to her friendās ramblings. While Russia is her great love, sheās beginning to wonder if Peter still has a place in that future. She hopes there is.
Would you be into 1 or 34 for the drabble prompts with Catherine/Peter? I started the show andā¦I get it now. If you donāt feel like it, thatās ok too!! // @tickle-bugs
drabble prompts!! // this one was getting super long so i am literally gonna turn it into a full length fic, here's a sneak peek!!
"He's boring," Catherine tells Marial as she dresses into her bedclothes. "We have absolutely nothing in common. I am a woman of science, art, and philosophy. And he, well..."
"Is a man of food, fights, and fucking?" Marial replies.

hi hello i hope this isn't weird but what do you love about The Great? I finally have hulu and im about to start watching it because of you fr like i dont go there but I WANNA GO THERE // @tickle-bugs
omg hi i love this question!! i'm gonna tell you my favorite and my least favorite aspects so u can make a genuinely informed decision lol!! i believe this is all vague enough to not give anything away but give you a genuine review of the show to help you decide to watch it!! i would LOVE if you watched it, i think if you wrote a fic for this in your gorgeous style, i would DIE bc...i just know you'd KILL IT but also 0 pressure, seriously.
my favorite things about the great are:
the characters are all incredibly well-written, well-rounded, and well-acted - especially elle fanning's portrayal of catherine
the humor is sort of dirty/low-hanging fruit but it genuinely always makes me laugh, every episode, someone will say/do something so absurd or hilarious that it cracks me up
the dynamics between all the characters are fascinating - it takes place in a country/time period where class/status, gender, etc. all are so important to your place in society, and yet, characters often have unlikely imbalances of power and different dynamics that you might not expect
the romance is so compelling, just about every romantic relationship has so many layers to it and plays into many different tropes: you have the doomed-by-the-narrative lovers, the childhood besties to star-crossed lovers, the enemies AND lovers simultaneously...just the romance and the sexual scenes are all so compelling and well-done, they clearly had a great intimacy coordinator on this or smth bc damn
THE COSTUMES ARE SO FUCKING STUNNING, like the costumes are indescribably beautiful and actually breath-taking. the dresses that all the main women wear are like actually perfect, i want to steal them all. elle fanning is so beautiful and they manage to make her look even more amazing, like her hair/makeup/outfits are just incredible, but everyone looks so good.
this show doesn't use "it was a different time period" to justify any lack of diversity - there are characters of all different races, multiple canonically queer characters, women are badass and well-written/represented, and while it does address issues like aspects of discrimination in russia during that time period, there is very little actual racism/homophobia in the show, like the characters who are black or queer do not suffer.
my least favorite things about the great are:
the historical inaccuracy is self-proclaimed, but gets a bit silly at times - catherine the great was so fascinating and well-documented in history, but they really just took a concept and ran with it without even trying to get anything right? there are little things like, the number/gender of siblings catherine had, but then the huge differences like how catherine rose to power and became empress. it makes a compelling story, but if you're a history buff, it can be frustrating!!
on that topic, it does gloss over a lot of the good that catherine the great did in real life as it gets caught up in the drama/comedy/romance of the show and forgets to show her as the genuinely accomplished woman she was.
this is a big one: it got cancelled. i haven't finished s3 yet, but i'm a few episodes in and i'm not confident that it is going to end on a fully satisfying note. if a show being cancelled is a turn-off for you, this one did just end and i'm still not sure if the ending is anti-climactic or not, lol.
lastly, this doesn't personally bother me, but it is extremely inappropiate. there is a lot of violence (not too much gore, everything is either very obviously fake, or not explicit), nudity/sex, and totally vulgar language. there is a lot of infidelity, implied/mentioned SA but no scenes that are violent or explicit, overuse of the word "cunt", etc. so just proceed with caution and consider looking up content warnings if you're wary!!
