Revelation: Pergamum’s White Stone

Revelation 2:17 ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’

White stone… The Greek word for stone is psephos. Per Strong’s, it is a small worn smooth stone, a pebble; in the ancient courts…

 Just for your biblical knowledge I'd like to quickly detail the Urim and Thummim, or sacred lots.

 Urim and Thummim are mentioned in scripture seven times, all in the Old Testament, brief descriptions of use in Exodus 28:30 and Numbers 27:12-21 are most of the references outside of the dual books of Samuel.

 The design of the sacred lots were to quickly discern God's Will in war or major internationals decisions.

 In theory they were two stones of 'yes and no', the Urim and Thummim meaning 'lights and perfections', but sometimes they didn't always give a straight answer. (1 Samuel 28:5)

 The use of these sacred relics ended after the reign of King David, and, to be entirely honest, I'm not sure why.
