Comet Neowise
My dad and I went ‘comet hunting’ two nights in a row. The first night we went out a few miles away from home and we could see the comet if we looked kind of near it, not at it, or for just the first second when we looked directly at it. I was feeling nauseous and didn’t want to go too much farther away from home, so we decided to go again the next day.
The second night, we went further, to the outskirts of town/another unincorporated area with absolutely no street lights, thinking that the reason we couldn’t see the comet when looking directly at it due to the few city lights still kind of lighting up the atmospheric dust and stuff like that in the air. However, even in an area with complete darkness all around, there was no seeing the comet 100% clearly when looking right at it. Obviously, all the photos we have seen were long exposures.
Last night, we took the ashes of the first dog I ever owned out with us and threw three handfuls out into the wind, which caught the ashes immediately and they were gone before we knew it. This was exactly what happened when we would let her out of the car for her weekly desert adventures when she was a young dog/old puppy. We would only know where she was when we would see her head pop up above the brush momentarily when she was bounding through the fields.
I still love the area that I moved to recently. It’s kind of more rural and I love not having any neighbors especially after having about a four year long saga of shitty neighbors from hell.
And that’s that’s been up with me lately.
