They may not breathe a single flushed sentiment to one another, but that doesn’t mean they don’t convey their affections in other forms. Karkat needlessly hogs the blankets until Kankri scoots up against him which seems to satiate both their needs. Conversely, Kankri, realizing a surefire way to get Karkat to kiss him, will talk at-length, bloviating about everything and nothing until Karkat mutes him mid-sentence with a kiss only to pipe up the second they part and be smothered by another kiss.
"This obsession of yours with silencing me is rather unnerving." He can’t keep the smile out of his voice.
"Your obsession with snuggling me when I have very clearly staked my claim on the blankets is obnoxious." Karkat scowls, scrunches his nose and adds, "Now shut up so I can keep kissing you."

You can’t seem to stop yourself, but you insist that Sollux is the instigator because he knows exactly where your hate-switch is and he flips it on purpose like he’s diddling a joystick. Every move you make to one-up him only winds up digging you both deeper: you squash his game grubs, he rips pages out of your ~ATH book and by the time you’ve exhausted each other on bullshit stunts you crawl into the same recuperacoon holding hands and speak not a word of it the next day even though this happens every night and will continue to happen every night until you settle on a quadrant for fucks sake.

Whenever she gets homesick or feels sad, Sollux performs a psionic light show for her enjoyment, shooting mini fireworks into the dead air. They explode into sparkles, trickling weightlessly back down to the meteor. If he concentrates hard enough he can create shapes—specifically a bee and a cuttlefish that bounce merrily about, oblivious to everything but one another. When Feferi kissed him, so too did insect and fish.
